Problably you are right, but it is not a very comercial O.S., is developed for professional app's and companies.
I think domestic use XP is the best, so far.

Don't worry, we only are sharing opinions, you are explaining your idea about XP and Win7 so do I.
This is the best of forums, we can explain, learn, help to the others. And so I understand this thread, as a discussion, and nothing else.
I enjoy talking with people who wants to collaborate, add and not substract.
So I insist, don't worry about your reputation, because there is no problem.

About XP and 7, I must recognize that my opinion about Win 7 is based in my experience with my SkyStar HD2 PCI sat receiver, because I have had many problems runs under Win7, and almost none runs under XP.
The performance and quality of drivers WDM for me is better than BDA drivers, used for this device at Windows 7.

So this is all I can tell you at the moment.

I have a client with SkyStar HD2 7.Instalado windows two weeks ago and I assure you it is phenomenal

I don't have that Skystar (but I'd like to have it :)). I have Skystar 2. Maybe Techisat release new driver for Win7 for your card? Maybe it's not problem with Win7 :) I hope so that I buy that card, and that both of us test it, and talk about our experiences :)

Sky Star HD2 is great.
Quality HD image is perfect.
I'm very glad with my device, and I recommend it to all watch sat tv more easily than dreambox or similar receivers.
You can run your SSHD2 in Windows, you don't must learn linux to install difficult images, only install SSHD2 then Hadu plugin. And voilà, nothing else.
For me is the best device I have never bought.

Thanks m8 for recommendation... I decide to buy it, but I just need to earn money for it :) With SS2 I'm satisfied, and Skystar HD2 is just upgrade to better sat-card.

I have Win7 ultimate x64 and use a skystar usb2 hd ci dvb in it. I have not any problem and everything is ok, so i suggest you to use this card without any problem.

I have tested my Skystar 3 and my Tevii S464 with xp and Windows 7
It seems, that the driver for Windows 7 is better, because it works much better.

windows 7 is quite a good os, we are talking here about the missing drivers that in win 7 64-bit doesnt exist. the drivers that work are absolutely exellent

i upgraded to win 7 my win xp pc but the pc got very slow and some hardware was not compatible anymore .. even when trying to install the software which was provided with the pc ..

so i re installed win xp again and managed to download the win xp service pack 3 from an external site and everything fines now!!
