Re: upgrading from XP to Win7 ?

Skystar ist a hardware produced by Technisat Germany.

You can get som PCI-Cards to build in at your PC or some USB Versions to plug in.

There are several versions with and without hd.
        Look at there:

          I don't want to dissapoint ecsbox360, but SkyStar 3 don't exists.
I mean, this is not a Technisat product as SkyStar2 or SkyStarHD2.
Perhaps it runs fine. But I insist, your PCI Sat receiever is not a Technisat original product.
This is the original author Technisat web site and the PC Sat original devices:

          _http://www.technisat.co.uk/index8587.html?nav=PC_products,co,76

And you can't find Skystar3 anyway.
I'm glad if your sat device works fine, but this product is not a Technisat Deuschtland original product.
          Regards.

SkyStar is a trade mark of Technisat Germany.
Is a Sat Receiver for the PC.
There are 2 types of SkyStar.
              1.- SkyStar PCI
              2.- SkyStar USB.
              The models more usuals are:
SkyStar 2 PCI for DVB Sat Standard
SkyStar 2 USB for DVB Sat Standard
SkyStar HD 2 PCI for DVB Sat Standard and HD
SkyStar HD 2 USB for DVB Sat Standard and HD
The device makes thath you can tune Sat Channel into your PC.
The way to watch tv channels is more easy than a Dreambox.
Because it works in Windows O.S. and only after install copy Hadu plugin emulator into the plugins directory and put the cline there. And this is all.
              There is no more.
You musn't install any image, nothing else.
              Regards.

You CANNOT install drivers from CD you have, because that is a drivers for XP - not for Win7. If your PC running slow, then you don't have enough RAM, CPU speed or similar...

Re: upgrading from XP to Win7 ?

this is a very cliche topic...I've bought a laptop and installed windows 7 64 bit...I have a desktop that's running XP, but when I've bought this laptop, I rarely use windows XP (once a week...).
Windows 7's got what you need, it's more user-friendly and definetly better for newer machines...It CLEARLY beats windows XP...

I do agree with edin4o, it takes a bit of time to get used to Windows 7, but once you do, going back to Windows XP feels like you're going back 10 years. It just seems like windows 7 is so much smoother.

I don't even have an i series processor, mine is much older than that, but windows 7 is a lot smoother. Apart from vista, microsoft have generally managed to improve the performance of their o/s on the current generation hardware, generally giving end users a performance boost. Windows 7 works much better on netbooks than XP does.
