Hi isn't the 5000 only digital box if you are trying to connect to hd channels the box cannot decode them.

correct fandm 5000 model only s/d chns.

to turn gift off in 7000 model

menu > network > ethernet > off.

Then in Net Application

When I hit information I am told it is connected.

How do I turn off the gift on the sd5000?

Hi I am new here.
Found out and dusted off my spider 5000 sd last used with the gift.

This is all pretty new to me but I have entered cline as per info found on this forum.

It tells me I have a connection but nothing is clearing. I have tried a few over the last few days sometimes around 4/5pm just after they are published but getting nothing not even with glitching.

Is there anything I am missing? the fact I have a connection makes me feel I have entered the cline correctly.

Help appreciated

would not do factory re-set, you will lose data.

Name or IP Address:- cccam.satlover.com (note do NOT enter the C (when you have typed it in hit exit on remote control and OK to save)
Port:- 06658 you can use the RC to enter this
ID:- 86854A67_36FC8D30 (note the underscore in the middle and use the FAV button to toggle between upper and lower case)
Password:- www.satlover.com (exit and OK)
Apply:- hit OK

ignore no { 0:0:3 }

Best is to grab a Cline shortly after they are published

Give it a few minutes to connect and it is better to turn off the "gift"

Its been maybe a year or 18 months since I last used it.

I do get the fta channels correctly though.

You say 'dusted off my spider 5000' does that mean you have not used it for
a long time, the clines might connect but maybe your channel list outdated,
you might even have to do rescan, do you get all the FTA channels correctly?

hope you don't need them, but before you reset always take a back-up of your settings/channellist/... - one can't be too sure ...

It doesn't say I have a connection to any cards, just that I have a connection.

I am thinking next move might be to reset to to factory default and see if that helps.

If you have connection with *** cards, the cline is ok.
Some tips:
- see http://www.satlover.eu/forum/all-oth...work-help.html
- if you have more usefull posts (I think 10), you'll have access to other (normally better and less used) clines, so contribute a bit here and you'll find out

Although I find it strange that nothing's opened, not even with glitches/freezes ...

Yes your are right up to HD9000 the box was fine but after that the HD9900 was a big problem with lots of people unable to fix the f100 problem so returning their box for a refund

But dont you all think the end to the support came quicker due to the 9900 HD having a significant design flaw with a F100 failure rate 10 times higher than the 9000 that made retailers with draw it from sale,so it would make sense that they would try and bring out a new model that people would feel confident in buying a spiderbox again.

I have been experiencing a few glitches/freezes lately so I'll take your advice and revert to the March 2012 patch and see if it helps.
I will report back.

Don't forget to do a double factory re-set and save your settings.

Like thecrazybandit I also had 2 very good years from my Spider and still going strong, I have never had any problem other than the odd re-boot to clear it after a lot of editing channels. For me it has been a very good buy and I have learned a lot despite it maybe not being as versatile as a dreambox or other linux receivers.
