Forget about trying it on Vista, but you may need to try it a few times before it will work,
did you leave it for a while to load? sometimes it takes a while before you will notice any sign of the file loading.

Thats a shame the Spiderbox HD9000 will normally come back when using the recovery tool its the HD9900 that had the problems that would not work good luck with Skybox f5

cheers all ,well i found my null lead and have tried it on a xp and vista but no luck ,def on a 9 pin serial and all i get is the f100 on the display tried connecting then loading the file , then powering the stb but still the same , gone for a skybox f5 in the meantime but would like to get it going again

The repair program works fine but like it has been said use only windows xp from a tower if possible other windows programs seem to have problems make sure are you using a null modem cable find the right port press connect and it should work straight away if if not try turning the box on and off

The general consensus is that it works best with an XP setup. also needs a computer with a proper Com port and not an adapter lead, are you leaving the 9000 switched off until the last minute, it seems that it takes a while to load. I do not have any experience of using the repair tool, seem to have avoided it up to now, you may need to try it a few times before success.
    Good luck.

    hi bam27beer and welcome

    - about the packages: have a try, you'll see you'll getting a lot of packages (really a lot!).
    - about the foot: check/****** what's 'live on sat' and you'll directly see what's on on which sat+channel - there are some other site, but forgot their names, use the search function if you want to find them.

    hi all first post ,
found this site last night and signed for the premium, and although i've had my box lying dormant for a year , with the info on here i'm all up and running ,well surprised though did spend a few hours reading through the posts ,managed to put the info via the remote ,i'm not sure had to extract the cfg file ,

a couple of questions though is there some info on what packages channels i'm getting and does anyone know of a good channel list ,and also a good way of editing it,
i blind scanned 13,16,19.2 and 28 a whole load of channels and probably about 90% of what i don't need , just looking forward to watching the football the weekend
    cheers in advance

As you are listed as a Premium Server member I am wondering why you feel the need to try free lines, surely your premium line gives you anything that would open with them and a lot more stable ?
