Hi,
do anyone know why hd channels don't work in official sky uk receiver box? i have updated my cards and hd don't work in the receiver. Please help. thanks

It all depends on how long the Card has not been in the official receiver i take it that its an official HD receiver so if you have had the card in the 3rd party receiver for a long time and the official receiver has not had any software updates then that will explain it.

For HD to work in an official receiver the Box must have the latest firmware update which includes the new pairing ID update released some time ago.

You can force a software upgrade to the official receiver by switching it off at the Plug and then holding in the 'Backup' button on the receiver switch it back on at the plug keep holding down the 'Backup' button until the 4 lights are lit on the front of the receiver this is then in software upgrade mode and will take around 10 minutes to install.

After Upgrade try your card again, Be warned that with the pairing ID firmware you will lose premium Movies and sports when you return the card back to your 3rd party box.

You are right. I don't make software update because of pairing. The last 4 time i make update in my official receiver the HD channel make update too. But in 06/2014 all the HD channel are gone and the HD channel don't make update und don't work in the official receiver. It doesn't matter. All the other sd channels are working.

I see there is some CS providers offering SKY UK HD, is there anything new regarding Sky UK HD and card sharing?

No nothing has changed the HD is still Black apart from BT sport 1&2 ESPN and Film4 HD Boxnation HD and thats about it.

also available in hd on cardsharing is lfc tv which is still a test - 3845.it will broadcast the full schedule on the 4 th of november as an extra- cost pay tv channel.

Hd channels are still black and there is no change for them.

The advertising that you have seen may be is old and they didn't make any change in content with the new situation.

An other explanation is the advertising is for IPTV and not for CS.
I think that the s*y HD channels don't have any problem with iptv.

Yes Card change is on the way as it is around 5 years since the last one, seeing how it took them over 10 months the last time to swap cards with the amount of subscribers it could take longer.

Also the 'Red' card would have to be backwards compatible with the Older SD receiver until these get swapped out for HD receivers.

Plenty of life in the old dog yet

Well , i believe that it will be compatible with the old type SD box , but they are not many left i tell you , with most people having HD tv's now .

I think if it works in Italy , it will work in the Uk too , they didn't swap the old receivers out , not that i know of , anyway .

The same scenario occurred Italy, started 1 years ago and concluded in december 2014.

No more HD channels visible now on the Italian Satellite Platform...

ITV2, 3 and 4 HD are working again. Not a fix, I think it's to do with the fact they are now on the UK tight beam. Also ITV encore HD has been ok for sometime now.

The Rumour is that ITV 2,3,4 HD are now coming to the end of there official tie in with Sky which could mean they will be FTA in a few months and has nothing to do with them being on the UK spot beam as there are other HD channels part of the package that are on the UK spot beam and they are still 'Dark'

Also look out for the Premier Sport/ Setanta HD test channel broadcasting at the moment which is expected to go live on the 22nd July

Yes. I agree with you, HD non- pairing is just the first step, but what I meant was that they have to be on the UK spot beam for that to happen. For copyright reasons.
