Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
A significant advantage is the processor. Vu+ uno has 400 mhz processor but dm800 hd pvr has 300 mhz processor. In addition, vu+ uno has bigger ram (512 mb) than dm800 hd pvr (256 mb of ram).

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
So from 256 to 512 mb ram, what difference would you notice?Comment

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
I mean will this result in faster channel zapping? How will the user feel the difference?Comment

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
cpu power is required for multi tuner, transcoding, hd, streaming ...
media center : (dec + hd) as a home server ( ... but still ... , this requires more bandwith and access dik than calculus )Comment

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
I don't know about that, I'm comparing vu+ duo which took a couple of seconds to the vu+ solo2 which is almost instantaneous. The point I'm trying to make is that extra processing power does seem to make a slight difference to zapping speed.Comment

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
Did you try different images on vu+ duo ? Some images are slower than others. Also using a DiSEqC makes zapping slower.Comment

Re: Dm800 HD vs VU+ UNO
as i think that the zap process from
provid0 to provid1
launches a key request (send, receive), and this is not instantaneous
that is,
most network data transfer and network speed,
than data processing and caching ...Comment
