    Re: Best cheap HD receiver??

Have same problem (few money, I am a father =P), but a very different solution :

Using an old laptop (Toshiba-Satellite-A151) with USB-Sat-Tuner and sasc-ng.
If you have an old, unused PC and some Linux-Skills, the probably best way to go, is setup a your own stb with mythtv/xbmc & sasc-ng.
Bought my Tuner (TeVii S660) for ~45€ including shipping). Now I have a fullfeatured mediacenter with many more functionality than even the best boxes available on the market, for almost no money ..

You have some extra work to set it up of course

      Re: Best cheap HD receiver??

In my opinion Sparkboxes are the best (Golden Media 990 or Golden Media Triple, Amiko Alien or Amiko Triple, Edision Pingolux and other - all receiver have the same hardware ST7111 box for single tuner version and ST7162 for triple tuner version).

They have a Dual Boot Operating System: Spark OS and Enigma2.
Also Spark OS is a Linux System and support cccam, oscam etc... And it has some useful plugin, like Android control, webTv, *******, Picasa, Shoutcast... and oh, yes, Opera Web Browser!

      Hardware:
      FULLHD - also 1080p, not only 1080i !
DVB-S2 tuner with Diseqc 1.1, I don't remember if it support 1.2 version, but it support motorized dishes.
USB, Ethernet, HDMI, SCART end Wi-Fi using an USB dongle. It support also USB hub to connect many devices and mouse and keyboard for web browsing.

Triple tuner version has 2 DVB-S2 tuner and 1 DVB-T/C tuner.

The single version tuner cost 100€ and triple tuner version 170€!!!

And don't forget the Cristor Atlas HD100 , it has a lot of surprizes for the price .

Also Premium X2 as a client box , similar to the F3 .

You can pick up a DM800 clone on ebay for £100 all in . Can't go wrong with that .

Really impressive hardware ! (comparing to price)
            But what about support ?
            Images, skins, stabililty ?
Can you record an encrypted HD channel and watch another encrypted HD channel ?

              Re: Best cheap HD receiver??

i think Startrack 2015 HD Plus is best because you can use cccam and it has built in conax and two card slots , also very cheap. RS 6400 in Pakistani currency.

                Re: Best cheap HD receiver??

                I've ordered a ferguson 102 avira hd for '60Euros.

Other Users (at amazon) say that it's the best receiver for this price.
                I'll check this!

Yes they work well for the money while they work that is ,be aware that they are very cheaply made, quality control is really bad ,with main boards not even soldered or finished correctly ,i would pay a little more for a box ,you might be lucky and get one that lasts like more expensive receivers .
