I use ATI Catalyst... :) You can install VISTA driver for Radeon. Download it, unpack, SETUP.EXE set in Compatibility mode for Vista, and install regularly... My graphics card works pretty well. ;)
Lucky you - I saw a lot of pc's that were crashed because of this video card and didn't worked with the Vista driver at all - maybe is not 100% ATI release, maybe is made by another hardware manufacturer...

Re: upgrading from XP to Win7 ?
Windows Vista drivers can be used in windows 7 if no other more appropriate.
The starter works just like the rest of Windows 7, the only difference is more economical price
The only difference is that others can not use more than three applications at once
Windows Vista have been the worst O.S. on the history. Win 7 is Windows Vista based, with many bugs fixed. But I insist, Win 7 needs more resources than Windows XP, and I have installed Seven on a Pentium D 2,8 Ghz (2 cores), 2 Gb Ram memory, dedicated AMD ATI 4500 HD graphics card 512 Mb, and my Pc runs slowly than Win XP, surely. And the same for many more I've installed.
Win 7 Starter has no AERO interface, and so it no need so much resources as the rest of Win 7 versions. It is the version installed on netbooks with Atom processor and 1 Gb Ram. So I think is better for old pc or laptops.
You can not refuel with unleaded in a car built for diesel fuel, the same for older pc generations, ram memories ddr2, single core processors, old graphics NON HD pci or integrated graphics cards, CAN'T run as new ram ddr3, quad core processors, new pci express HD graphics cards. Is impossible.
So on, drivers are a problem to old devices, as our SkyStar pci sat receiver, many users reports bugs with Win7 and pc sat receivers, because incompatibilites.
I remark, if you have an old car, you haven't a Ferrari, and the old cars speed is slow, and Ferrari speed is great. No more.
So think, before install Win7.
Regards.

It MUST run slowly then XP in any way :) And if you install Win2000 or Win98, it will run faster then XP :D
I just say - you CAN install Win7 in many older PC's... and it not been fast like on brand new configurations - surely ;)

I used regular 1000% ATI release. You just need:
- download and unpack installation (you may start installation, and when it's unpacked, abort it, and you have ATI directorium with unpacked setup.
- then, you need to set Compatibility mode on SETUP.EXE file (right click on it, and set Compatibility mode to Windows Vista)
- now start that file, and finish setup. You need to accept all security warnings.

If you do everything like I described, if you select CUSTOM, in list you must see "Display driver"....

Just go to ATI download driver URL, select Radeon series, and download driver for Vista. I try 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc.exe file, and it's works...
hi, nice one for the screenshot. One small issue thou - the screen doesnt show the device id.
Are you able to provide a 2nd screenshot after you select 'Device Instance Path' from the dropbox box in the middle of the userform.
You'll know when you have the correct one as it'll look like my screenshot but the numbers will be different.
Hi,

Based on the device ID - id say your device was a KY-RS9600

Found these drivers. Might be worth giving them a try.

USB LAN CD-Drivers (KY-SR9600) Windows 7 Setup.exe

Re: upgrading from XP to Win7 ?

does not matter that 64 bit works 32 to 95% of the components

And if certain specific devices do not always detect mode can be used from XP professional windows 7 comes in as part of program features

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - from reading around it appears no x64 drivers have been written for Windows 7. Only x86(32bit) drivers.

It not a simply process to convert/translate a x86 driver installation .inf file to install a x64 device driver.

I think your choices are limited to;
1. Use Windows 7 x86(32bit) - if having Windows 7 is important to you.
2. Replace the hardware with a Windows 7 x64 compatible device. Although this will incur costs to yourself.
3. Back to Windows XP SP3 x64.
4. Back to Windows XP SP3 x64 (running a virtual machine of Windows 7 x64 - tunnelling access to the KY-SR9600)

Sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance.

it works on win7 32 but it doesn t work on win 7 64 bit.
It depends which kind of driver you need.
