The most important is indeed be able to watch HD tv and card sharing (with cccam)
And it's a original box and european, so must be better support.
I don't have a hd receiver yet, so I'm really hesitating.
Will there be updated images on a regular base so that new cccam versions will be support (for example cccam 2.1.5 when it comes out)

Another question what is the better choise between the italian model and the german model (2 times dvb-s or dvb-c or dvb-s and dvb-t)?
I don't have knowledge about difference between the dvb types.

Hi runmo, for what I know (I just reading an italian board about this box, I don't have it) this box don't allow you to change just cccam into firmware, it is enclosed into firmware image, so if you load one firmware version you'll have the relative cccam enclosed. For models it depends from your country, there are 3 models of this box, one just with DVB-S and S2(HD) tuner and it cost less then 100 euros on web, then 2 models one that has built in also DVB-T (HD) tuner and another that has built in also DVB-C (HD) tuner.
Now the choice depends just by what you can receive in your country. In Italy for example we don't have DVB-C but DVB-T so we choose the model with DVB-T enclosed. At last you need to consider if you'll buy a cheap box you can't expect to have the same flexibility of linux box, but it will do just the basic job, ah I've noticed all Edision can record also HD programs on an exernal hard disk connected on USB.

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing

Thank's for the information satman. Pitty enough I don't speak Italien
to understand the italian websites talking about the argus mini
In Belgium must be DVB-T to if I'm not mistaken.

I know it can't be expected to have the same flexibility of a linux box but budget wice this edision argus mini hd 2 in 1 ip combo seems to be a good oportunity.

I'm wondering if the latest cccam will always be supported in the upcomming firmware.

Basic job is fine for me (watch hd in good quality and cccam working) next to my dreambox 7020. As I only have a small budget to spent, not much choise next to a db 800 clone.
So any other suggestions are welcome (eaven second hand)

      regards

I'm sure if you'll search on net you'll find an English forum for this box too.
For your budget (around 150 euros if I've know well) there is not much. Basically HD linux boxes are: Dreambox 800HD or 500HD, clones of 800HD or Azbox. I've last one, it is cheaper then a DM500 (around 220 euros) but is not compatible with Enigma2 images because has a different CPU. Also if you wish DVB-T too you'll need to buy a tuner to add inside it and it costs around 38 euros. So it is more expensives then Edision receiver. About used box, I think the only wise choose can be an original DM for the service, if you buy a chinese clone used is not hard someone will sell you a defective box. And if you wanna an original DM HD I don't think you'll find it less then 300 euros for a DM 800 HD and not less then 250 euros for a DM500 HD. Consider that 500HD has no USB so you'll can't add an external DVB-T receiver too. You just can watch for used Azbox Elite, it new costs 220 euros so can be you can find it used around 150 euros. But ask ever for original proof of purchase so if you'll have problems you can have service.

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing

I think you can search on ****** a specific forum for Argus Mini in your language, I've found some in german too. Anyway also if you'll not have the latest cccam version on board, you can use it anyway, all versions are compatibles until now.

Thank's again for the info satman.
Let's hope cccam stay compatible for the owners of this argus mini receiver
Maybe myself to in the future.

I guess there allways be people that make adapted firmware for all kind of receivers, included the argus mini.

Bad news about Edision 2 in 1 receiver, the price has been upped from 149 euros to 159 euros on most of sities here in Italy, but I think this means it is a sign it is good box.

It isn't a chinese clone. It's original box made in Germany.

Really cheap but compared to Agus Edision 2 in 1, it has not DVB-T and most important CCCAM.
A new firmware release is up for Argus Edision it has solved previous CCCAM problems (freezes).
