I agree with you , mate
It has less range and sensivity than many other original RC , but I think is somewhere in the middle range compared to others, because I saw it to win many RC..
For example, it's less sensitive that the original RC of my dreambox,
but compared to this of my sony tv is better.
Also better is compared to an rc from a LG dvd player and an old thomson tv.

Generally speaking, the sensivity of this rc is good and never puzzled me.

I'm glad that my RC is not defective. I will try to remove front plastic cover of IR diode. I think it could help increase sensitivity.

for info (usefull, although bit off topic ... - don't know if this was posted here somewhere before) - to test if a remote control still works: look into a photo or videocamera to the rc and push the rc - when is works you should see the light while pushing.

I have found that the Lidl Aldi brand universal remotes are great value for money i always buy Tevion and have never had any problems

try Logitech Harmony, I have used them for years and you can programme them online to anything you want.

What an absolute load of Rubbish they maybe low quality in your country my friend but i doubt anything sold in the European union that has passed standards is low quality, My Harmony one costs twice the amount of an original remote and has been working my devices quite easily for years.

How can a receiver or a tv be damaged by a remote control?
Is there any evidence for that?
Have you read any rewiew or any investigation about this issue?

I have used many universal remote controls for different devices for many years without any problem.

Please if you have more info about that you can share it with us.

The Logitech Harmony RC are too expensive. If the Silvercrest does the same job it must be taken in consideration.

I have seen some strange posts over the years, but I have never ever heard of this. there is no way a remote could damage your STB/TV. I have use all sorts over the years, If you have problems then I would suggest it is down to user error, ie pressing the wrong combination of buttons, but suggesting that a different Remote could damage you equipment is total rubbish.
