Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
I've been wondering if there are any fixed set-ups I can explore that will give me 28deg East through to 13deg East?
The reason I ask is because I've tried setting up a motorised system before and failed badly, and I know i've seen fixed dishes with multiple LNBs to cope with multi-sat setups.
Just looking for a few pointers reallyComment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
Inverto Black Ultra Gain lnb. 1db loss cant be beaten, i used this on 1w to pull in a weak Hd channel increased the signal and quality by 12%. They are also quite cheap, got mine on fleebay for less than a £10. That'll solve your problem and messing around!!Comment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
If in the "UK Zone" a 2 dish setup is a good compromise between quick switching of Fav Chans/Sats but with the option to have a motor on the second dish.
As metioned before it is very easy to setup a fixed dish 28.2e, 23.5e 19.2e & 13e.
However for very little money you can add a mototized dish to a fixed dish system. The Ultimate cost will depend on the nuber of tuners you need to supply a signal to.
But for a single tuner/box system (most simple) you will need a, 60cm fixed dish with 1 to 3 lnbs, 1m motor dish with single lnd and a £5 4way diseqc switch.
As far as I know all Linux boxes will support this configuration.
So for example you would have 28.2e, 19.2e and 13e as fixed lnb's and have a 1m motorised dish for Occaisional veiwing/feed hunting. From an Enigma1or2type box the only delay will be when switching from the fixed lnb's to the motor. Something you will really grow to hate if you have to listen/wait for motor only sytem to change channel.
Also remember, on your fixed dish you can put Octo Lnb's, giving feeds to 8 tuners (£5 switch plus a feed cable into house to each tuner)
Just a thoughtComment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
Hello, I've a diseq motor and two decoder. I configured both decoder. When I use a decoder, the decoder's settings no longer work. Let me explain, if you use a decoder with hotbird 13e, when I try to use another decoder, if I position it on hotbird 13e, the satellite is no longer centered. Why? am I missing something on the operation of such a system?Comment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
if memorize a position in a decoder, for example position 5. In the other decoder I have to call the same position 5, or can I use another location?Comment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
It sounds like you are using Diseqc to drive your motor, if so then you will need to take note of the position of each Sat that you can receive on one Stb and then use the same position number in the other one, you need to save each one individually. It is a lot easier using Usals if your Motor and Stb's support it, as, once you set it up correctly it will find the Sat's for you.

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
As this is a Diseqc only Motor disregard my comments about Usals. As I already said you will need to use the same position in each receiver to enable you to switch from one to the other. If you have both receivers connected by a combining switch then you will need to switch one off before you drive the dish.

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
be sure that you have best signal at 13. Choose the sat which you want to catch an set a channel of this sat at your tuner. Now move your dish to the satellite. If you have picture move it slow to receive best picture and store location on positioner. Please push thanks.Comment

Re: Multi Satellite Set-up
The Jaeger SG 2100 does have a USALS compatible system built into it called GOTO X see here: http://www.satcruiser.com/PubFiles/SG_2100.pdf
You can then just enter your Longitude and latitude into the satellite receiver and the motor will drive to your chosen satellites automatically, For this to work correctly you have to make sure that your dish is correctly lined upComment
