I gained about 10% fitting a black ultra over a standard blue line ,getting the focal length right by moving the lnb in and out on the holder mount helps, but more importantly that the dish perfectly tracks,to be honest i never gained any new channels and still cant get Amos at 4w with a 1.2 mtr dish here.

If you're in scotland, as your flag suggests, a 1.2 metre dish probably acts like a 90cm or 1 metre dish down south.
You probably need a slightly bigger dish.

What kind of signal do you get digicon?
Just want to know if I'd stand a chance with a td88 in the south east?

I live even closer to the north pole - 30E 60N
            I got 1.1 m dish
When I performed some experiments about a year ago, I caught amos 4w on multifeed with a dish focused on 13E. Signal was strong enough, but I found this sat useless (I don't need Ukrainski TV) and now my far western sat is 4.8E. But I think there's something wrong with your setup if you cannot focus the 1.2 dish on amos 4w.
You have to check some mechanical damage on the dish, condition of LNB and diseq switch, cable condition e t c

Not sure if Toby69's 1.2m is a channel master

That could be because you're inside the footprint and scotland isn't.
Not sure on your exact location but large parts of russia are inside the amos 2 footprint.

I am in the middle of sorting out a new motor for my Gibertini 1.2m at the moment so best i could do Spacecom package 4° west Unian-TV, I get most channels from 4° west

Guys, 1.5 Gilbertini is by far the best and unique solution!!!
Only thing is what kind of DiseQ rotor is needed when we know that HH100 is to 100cm dishes and HH120 Stab that I have is to 125cm in size.
For 150 we should need something like HH150 or alike, or some other non diseq system!??

                      Re: 1m dish vs 1.2

You should not even be putting the STAB HH120 on a Gibertini 1.25m the dish is too heavy for it, The STAB will drive it but you will shorten its lifespan and also it cannot accurately drive to each satellite position due to weight.

For the 1.25m and above you should be looking at either an 18" or 24" actuator and on the 1.5m i would advise a heavy duty actuator

Heeh, I finished using 125cm dish on Stab HH120 after two years, now it's second year Gilbertini 105 in HH120 and successful as well!!! So it's total of 4 years of good service of Stab HH120 'till now!
                        Guess I was lucky guy...

Yes, actuator is solution in this case!

Not luck really the STAB motors are probably the BEST diseqc motors available today there is nothing else in its class to match them either the HH100 or HH120, I have a 120 myself as a spare but would never get rid of it the build quality puts all other brands to shame.

I use a stab motor on 1.25 channel master dish this the second motor in seven years the stab is great all i will say is that the dish is in a place were it covered from the wind on the ground
