Wind load would be a consideration. I know a lot of people park their larger dishes in a position so it is not facing the wind head on when there are high winds.

I'd recommend to get a larger dish and to get rid of motor. On 1.2 dish you can catch half a sky with multifeed. I live in 60,30 and I easily get sats from 5 E to 36E on 1.1 m dish so I guess if you are live in a place like 50,0 you can take every sat from 20W to 20E.

Yes he could have a multifeed, but he wouldn't be able to receive 26e and 7w. Would have to be one or the other.

I have a 1.2M dish, but installed on a pole in the garden to avoid issues with wind. I installed a 1M for a friend and with a lot of wind his got messed up.

How would installing it on a pole help against wind?
Would it not be more exposed to the enviroment?
              Am i missing something?

Wind will always be less at ground level rather than on a wall or roof.
He had it on a pole in his garden.

I have a 1.2m dish motorized and Experienced problems with wind kept throwing my mast alignment off when the wind was exceptionally strong.
I noticed that a few satellites in my arc 36W-15E and the lower power satellites from other areas of the arc were having troubles maintaining a consistent lock.
                  helped use "Thanks"

Just so I've read that right, did you mean the TD110 is a good dish? I could read that sentence either way and wasn't sure which way you meant it.

TD110 or Orbital are absolutely fine and should get you what you want coupled with a black ultra

with a 1.2 you receive a lot more channels and a lot higher signal it also does depends on where u are in the country though.

The only negative of a larger the dish is it's more difficult to align it perfectly as the variation in position has a greater effect on the signal. If you aligning a big dish yourself you need a little more patience as its not as easy as whacking a minidish on your house, they take about 10 minutes!

ive got a 1.2 mesh dish ( thousands of little holes in ) this stops the wind getting hold of it , a little more expensive than the normal solid dish but well worth it in the long run

Yes that's correct, A mesh or perforated dish really does help with wind load.
I have one as well and think it is a very good option. And hardly affects performance as well.

have you tried titanium 0.1 lnb compared to black ultra
also did you try all black ultra - single, twin, quad
some say that quad Is better for fringe
