Re: DM 800HD se clone
@sjamesamuel
It's better to avoid a HDD more than 500GB.
I read many times in forums for people having problems with big and very fast hdd.
The reason maybe is the power that a such hdd needs and the dreambox can't give it in the right way.
An other solution is to try a hdd from an your laptop and buy a new one bigger for laptop. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: DM 800HD se clone
The smaller the disk size the better, make sure its sata, and sata will not be around for much longer they are getting dated.
The big sizes for hdd is stupid, allright they are cheap, but if one goes down you have lost all your data on one disk. it is much better to divide your data over smaller drives.
Also don't put your data on a cloud they ere easy to hack your data is stored in a public domain so in theory is open to anyone specially big brother.Comment

Re: DM 800HD se clone
I notice some flicker in the OSD on the CRT TV, but not on the HD TV. Is this normal?Comment
-
Re: DM 800HD se clone
If this flicker happens on whole screen, then maybe the cable you are using to connect the box with tv has some problem.
In this case try another cable to check it.
If the flicker happens only in the osd ... then maybe is something bad
Probably your box has a hardware malfunction.
The last you can try is to reflash your box with a new image. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: DM 800HD se clone
The solution: Active usb-hub.
Cost ~9 Euros and all problems with my 1TB-hdd were solved. If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: DM 800HD se clone
Perhaps a problem of the used format. What format did you use - fat32, ntfs, ext2 or ext3?
I had same problems (even with active hub) and the combination ext3-format with active hub and everything works fine with a linux-receiver.

Re: DM 800HD se clone
hi Satphoenix
did test with several formats - only fat32 was recognised and worked ; only a 'small' one of 320 GB is recognised with ntfs (but I believe only 120 GB of the 320 GB recognised) - but going a bit out off topic here now ...
btw: no open linux receiversComment

Re: DM 800HD se clone
Interlace problems (perhaps): if the flickering appears in the edges (top and bottom) of horizontal lines. But with new tvs, this effect is nearly zero.If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment
