    DM 800HD se clone

    Hi

I consider buying this box: DM 800HD se clone

Would those who have it mention if it is good or has problems?
Is clone worse than the original?

    Thanks

    Hi mate

The dm800se clone is a very good receiver.
Of course is worst than original but for the money you give is ok.
(costs about the half money than original).
I suggest you to buy those with ap8 sim card because you have the ability to load original images and generaly is more stable.

As Kalpikos has stated if you do purchase one make sure you buy Sim A8P or even E-Star as these 2 Sims still have plenty of support A8P being the most popular, although Sim2 still has some support.

        hi sjamesamuel

there haave been several threads about original vs clone, both pros ans contras, I suggest you do some reading and searching here - you can start here: http://www.satlover.eu/forum/dreambo...x-clone-2.html

Personal opinion: they are much cheaper, but I seriously doubt the support and service - if you don't have the money, you can take the risk, if you have the money, stay with original - but alsi have a look at some alternatives such as the VU+, GigaBlue, ...

          Thanks for your reply.
I think the available sims were: ferrari and sim2, if I'm not mistaken. Are they not good enough?
Can the sim be replaced in case a better one is available?

I've tried to search and read, but there are a lot of contradicting opinions, most being general, not specific to a certain model.

I ******d for its images and I could find a lot.
          Thanks

            These sims require "patched" images.
On the contrary, sim a8p accepts original dm images.
Yes, sim can be replaced but it would be cheaper to buy it bundled with receiver.

              Thanks for the info.
I can't find this sim here where I live.

How do patched images compare to origianls?
Is it the same operation and functionality?

If you cannot source an A8P sim DM receiver then i would be tempted to go with the Sim2 version instead, Patched images work just as the originals 99.9% functionality and even some especially on sim2 they port over clone version images of blackhole images from receivers such as the Vu Solo which is quite neat and they work perfectly.

                Good Luck with your choice

Thanks for your help. I'll probably go for the Sim2 version.

I still can't figure out what the function of the sim is, would you please explain?

The Sim Card is the Security feature of the Receiver so a Sim2 card will only accept Images and bootloaders written especially for the Sim2 card the same as the E-Star and same again with Ferrari Sim only the A8P Sim can take official images

                        Sim 2.10 it's a very good solution.
You will find a lot of images for this sim (patched images).

For me 2.10 is the best way if you can't find an A8P sim together with the box.
Don't buy it separately because it will cost you much more money.

OK, but the silly question is why would they prevent running some images on the receiver?

Everything is marketing, and all are made for the profit.
Dmm sells in Europe original receivers for 450€ and a clone dreambox costs only 200€ (in China costs less than 200€).
Every original dreambox has inside it a sim card.
Dmm with this sim card try to protect their products, but with A8P cards and even E-Star cards it's posible a clone dreambox functioning as original.
Of course they are still "clones" and their quality can't touch the quality of an original.

I can see on some images "SSL 84". Would you please explain what this means?
