    Re: Snr & agc

the solo2 reports a lower ACG 41% than the 78% Uno does on the same channel transponder, and at the same time it reports a higher SNR.

The Solo2 has a driver bug which shows incorrect agc value. I queried this with the online shop which supplied my solo2 and they confirmed this.

It's an ongoing problem that hasn't been resolved. I asked on forums, and the supplier, why my vu+ duo showed 40% - 50% higher agc on strong sats, but Solo2 was higher on weaker sats. They all said it is a minor issue, and not to pay attention to it as it's incorrect.
As it doesn't actually affect the running of the stb it doesn't appear to be a priority.

              hi

agree with bokkie here - now of another brand with the same bug/issue - older model showed values correct, new model doesn't - had some discussions about this, result was same as bokkie said: don't bother - you'll see when your signal and quality is good (picture) or bad (black / no signal) - in the end you'll get to 'know' your stb anyway ...

AGC is "automatic gain control". It modulates the signal to get best quality.
I think the value is lower in dual tuner because it is more sensitive and therefore the gain needed is lower than with the mono tuner.
