thats correct, gift i still got, but hardly used but does come in handy, i got box for hd as new tv purchase, sly sub very cheap, but also very ease of use, example, using plenty of n/c lines to veiw sometimes, and some are very good, drawback is changing regular,
yes bokkie take your time chosing box as mistakes can be costly.

The thing I like about the idea is that as a noob to all this It'll give me time to find my feet with the whole scene whilst still being able to use it as it's intended. If it lasts 5 or 6 months, at least It's gotten me started.

have been looking around about that super rugby, australian, new zealand, s, africa, it seems, perhaps you should look into streaming via computor for that, as packages multichoice/osn, that show, no chance of receiving here in uk.

Sly show a fair amount of the games, but tend to miss a few important ones. I have tried the Whole justin.tv, livefooty, etc route but they're just too unreliable.
I do have sly but just looking to get rid of it once I am all hooked up.
Or I might take you up on your offer from yesterday.
It is a cracking competition though. Great rugby!

get your set-up sorted out an take it from there, there are plenty of servers you can talk to, to ask what packages/channels they provide, downfall at a cost thou.

I think it's probably the openbox s9 or s10. Can be had for around £60. Watch out for clones though.

There is also the eaglebox, which some say is better than openbox. Just not much support.
                    they are around £85.

I wonder if C Band is not the answer to your problem. Nice big dish and you should be able to get SS1 on DSTV Africa.

As long as you know you have a clone. Can kill your receiver otherwise.

I'm getting a Dreambox 500S as my first receiver, only costs about £50 though of course it's a clone since they don't make them any more but at that price even if it goes bust I haven't lost much.

I also like that it's reported as being easy to use. The dreambox, which many claim to be the Mutts nuts is also supposed to be a lot harder to grasp.
I'm not going to become a serious hobbyist, just want to enhance my couple hours of viewing every evening.
I was originally going to go the openbox route, but heard they struggle with motorised systems.
