[QUOTE= why you would need a dual tuner to record something, while you watch something else seems a waste of time and money if you pay for a server.it will be repeated the same day, or the day after, and the day after that.[/QUOTE]

i quite like the idea of a fixed dish on one tuner and a moterized dish on the other if that is possible with a dual tuner ,as i have a large fixed dish for sly and a moterized for rest of europe

That is the most popular setup for a dual tuner here in the UK fixed dish on 28.2° east with a motorised on tuner A, so possibilties are record something on Sky and either A use the motor to watch another channel on sky or watch another channel on a different satellite.

I would advise anybody thinking of buying a new receiver to seriously contemplate any of the Enigma 2 Linux box's which there are loads of different makes around this is by far the most supported type of sat box available to day and it will be for the near future

Why don't you consider torridial since it proves to be quite effective in fixed lnb's reception.
Special system with more then 6 lnb's connected and one reflexive dish in front of them for double reflection boost!
My friend has it and azbox works like a charm. No need waiting for motorized system to catch up. Just good Cccam server like arb*eo and instant opening!

Wouldn't recomend a clone to anyone. At the moment there seem's to be nothing but clones being sold as origionals on *bay.

There are many reported problems with originals too.
I think It's luck or bad luck if your receiver works fine or not....

i think the best thing to do is plenty of research before you make up your mind as there are many to choose from.

There is just so much choice out there. i had trouble deciding but I think the gift has sold me on the spiderbox.
I did look at the protek as well but heard they aren't quite as good.

go for the spiderbox, good choice for starter box, good hd, the protek add another £40 to price for there services i.e. server, if you get the 7000 as i got plenty to view.
no regrets, up to yourself thou.

From what I've gathered, protek don't have as many gift channels either. Is that correct?

You must take into consideration and i dont just mean the spiderbox here but the protek as well, The reason these 2 receivers are very popular is due to the gift that comes with them and while many members on here and other forums have enjoyed this for well over 12 months and more in some cases, Just dont forget this could stop at anytime if they got raided and shut the whole thing down then thats it finished.

The good thing with these boxes is the fact that you can sort out your own viewing by other means which will come in handy and fellow members such as Toby69 will be on hand to give you any help needed.

All i am trying to say is way up the pros and cons of any box and not just because it has a certain added value due to the gift, just look at the support and specification of each box and see if that box is right for you.
