Even better to take a back-up for everything you can (also settings and channel lists). You never know what can go wrong ; I periodically try to do this (when I don't forget it). I always also have a copy of the original soft for my boxes (hope never needed, but just in case).
I keep a back up of everything...even though it looks useless now since I can only watch FTA from where I'm at and with the hardware I have. The dump has been used several time since I had to experiment with different firmware.

Have you tried the obvious and pressed the audio button on the remote; i know it sounds a bit simple, but easily overlooked. Also within the menu go to tv system and check tv settings in there, mines set up through hd lead and settings are as follows
      video resolution = 1080i_60
      aspect mode = auto
      video out = yuv
digital audio out = lpcm out

long shot i know but worth a look.
I'm told the problem is with high 8PSK and QPSK channels only and with certain providers' encryption system that require cccam 2.2.1 or above. The lowend channels work fine with cccam.

My settings are similar but I use video resolution 1080i_50

If you put your new firmware into the "openbox firmware tool" I posted in the forum, you'll see that the main code of the firmware has not changed at all. Most of the changes have been made on the user area.

The audio of the tv and the box is fine. they work. just not on some channels using cccam.

not separate no, only if a new firmware for the box comes up with this integrated in it.

@robingazi: What happens when you change a few channels and then come back to the same channel you were. Does it restore the audio?

as pan1100 said, There is no way to upgrade or downgrade the CCcam vrsion on openbox without upgrading or downgrading the whole firmware. Remember that the whole firmware, including everything is only 4.1mb and it takes about 10-20 seconds to upgrade or downgrade.

              hi microchick

been curious for some time: you mention downgrading: is this useful and why or in which cases you downgrade (eg useful to have different cccam versions?)?

PS: In my clientbox (no openbox) I really have no idea which cccam version is integrated and how I could find it.

                Re: OpenBox Other Files

When I mention Downgrading, It means that sometime you upgrade with a latest version for example (June 2012), you find out that the receiver is unstable after upgrading then you downgrade by putting back a firmware from early dates e.g, May 2012.
The version I am using on my box is 2.1.4 I think.

For Openbox the CCcam version can only be seen on the server. There's no way to see what version you are using unless you asked the server. Only the server can see your CCCam version. The other way is to find out to check what version firmware you are using and then read about that firmware.
Every Firmware comes with kind of instruction or (what's new) and they always mention what version of CCcam is included.

I'm gonna have to check that. It could take some time since I no longer have the cline I was testing with.

                      hi

ok, basically same here ; downgrading has been necessary due to unstability (but nothing to do with cccam) and can be handy ; no instructions/info about cccam version found so far (no openbox)

I had tried that... apparently the free clines do not work with anything Ku with subcontinent footprint. I tried Dishtv on 95e and 100.5E, SunDirect on 93.5E and 91.5E, BigTV on 91.5E, VideoconD2H on 88E and TataSky on 83.5E.

I do not have a C-band dish. Do you have any idea which package is available via satluver free lines that is avilabale available in the subcontinent? If there are good packages available on C-band I might as well buy a dish, even though the huge ugly dish might upset other people in my flat building.

About reception in your region there are sites for this (****** for eg 'sat beams' or 'sat coverage') - about channels/packages search for eg 'cccam channelinfo'

I use those sites and I know which have footprints over Dhaka. I just don't know which ones, if any at all, are in the free lines of this forum.

I just haven't found the combo...footprint coverage + coverage of the free lines from this forum.
