Cant find Sly Sports

I recently bought a DVB card for my PC, No info of card but comes up as
DM1105 DVBS BDA Tuner Filter. I scan channels but for some reason i cant find Sky one and Sky sports. All movies are there discoveries etc, I use astra 28E and hotbird mostly Northwest UK. I have tried doing a blind scan with all transponders and still no sports or sky one. any ideas. Using it with DVBViewer 4.5. Get 100% signal on most channels and find the channels on my regular sly box any ideas. I did get ULive 1.4 bundled with it but that doesnt seem much use for plugins. Any ideas

I would suggest to go to the website called lyngsat or kig of sat and find the transponder frequency and all the details and then do a transponder scan on your DVB card. Hope it works. Are you missing HD channels or the SD?

Both sd and HD, Got todays transponder updates from Fastsatfinder and still no joy. Im hoping it wont be the card, Just bought it very cheap and im hoping this isnt why its cheap.

Is there any other satellites i could use out of the hundred or so thats listed, Northwest uk rather than asta 28a and 19e and hotbird ?

Just got progDVB and whilst scanning it found the channels but were in the "lost" section at the end, Any ideas why that is happening and is there anything i can do to get the channels back

I reckon it must be a faulty pci card, Ill try buy another when i have the cash and see if that makes a difference. Strange how it picks most programs up but not sports, atlantic or sky1. must of scanned and moved my dish a hundred times.

What DVBviewer you use?

Try this:
Run DVBviewer and press Help->Configuration folder
Then put this files to this folder:


NOTE: save yours old "Channels.dat" and "Channels.bak" before you replace with new. Also since Iam not from UK I cant recive Astra1N beam, but all Sky sports and other Sky channels are here.

Strange, did you (double)check ALL the entered values of the TP's?

You can also try with a frequency just next to the correct one (eg instead of 11789, you try with 11788 or 11790).

As you've said you recently bought your card, should be warranty.

Suddenly I got a light bulb while typing here: is it a DVB-S (only MPEG-2 - SD) card or a DVB-S2 card (MPEG-4 - HD)? - perhaps this is the problem.

You are right Pan1100, Never occurred to me to check the card if its a SD or HD. And Yes sometime the transponders are on number different. I have noticed this on my Openbox.

Cheers Zoron89 But this made no difference. Its a DVB S Could this be the difference and if so do i just do the TP pan1100 is talking about. or is this card a waste of money

give it a try ; just checked to be sure: the sky sports hd are dvb-S2, the sky sports (sd) are dvb-s; the sd you should surely get.

Installed DVB Dream and made it easier to search each frequency, Tried all the frequencys for sky sports and sky 1 and none work even though it brings up a few other channels paid and unpaid on that specific frequency.changed my LNB from the 4 way to oiginal sky but no difference. Found all channels on my skybox with no trouble so looks like a dodgy PCI never known one to be choosey of frequencies very strange.

yes, strange indeed ; just a suggestion about the DVB-card: can't you reset it, play original soft or drivers for it or alternative versions? If this is possible best make sure you have back-ups (channellist + soft).

Does there exist channeleditors for this kind of DVB-cards? If so, you can try to manually add the missing channels.

Heard already about certain frequencies which weren't picked up, but not about some channels ok and some channels not ok on the SAME frequency.

Can you scan 28.2E and 19.2E with DVBviewer and then post channel list so we can se what is problem?
