i think the problem is in hardwre not in the soft, maybe tuner problem or overheating, did you see whats the temperature of your box in full work?

I think so too but sometimes freezing happens just a minute after i turn my dm on! How can i check the DM temperatures?

You could be having power problemseg surges, or RF interference do you have any RF remotes in the house by any chance?

ricouskim : you got several things to check :
1) can you access the dbox as I requested (to know if it's really frozen or not)
2) check the temp : open it if necessary and put the finger on the CPU and the tuner...if you call the emergencies...that's too hot


the problem of overheating tuner was evoked since the beginning and I believe that's the cause of your troubles

we need input on these suggestions before being able to try to go further in the investigation..

No RF problem Jonny, it's not just a remote problem. And no power surge too because i have another DM which works fine.

i know there is a plugin or in sistem information in some kind of dreambox image that shows the internal temperature of the dream, dont remember the name , sorry

Ok but plugin should need a controller inside the DM to check the temp and i'm not sure there is something like this in DM500.

I just got a freeze so i have tried to access the dbox by ftp and it not connect! The tuner is not hot, the freeze happened only 3 minutes after i turned on the DM, after hours without watching tv.

Try find power adapter with 12V 3A for DM500s.

Thanks, but I have another dreambox 500 (older) and the power adapter is also a 2A and this one doesn't freeze so i'm not sure it's the problem. I switched the power adapters and freezes are always there.

My friend has the same problem with 12V 2A adapter, and after he buy thisone everything works fine.

12 v 3 amp adapter will solve the problem.

I think he should try to purchase the adapter is not a problem at 3.5 amps
