          If have vix 2.4. If you go to menu->setup->system->fan control .
          Turn off fan basic action and then choose use fan timer.
          choose how long you want fan on for and then how long off for.
          I have 15 on 30 off.
          works in standby too.

                  Should be the same in Blackhole mate.
                  Go into fan control and follow the steps I listed above. The stb follows the settings regardless of whether it's in standby or on.
