    Re: New Box Vu+ Zero

let's see it vs twin dvb-s2 rcvr

    if

    135 E for 1 vu+ zero for 1 dvb-s2

then a twin rcvr remains as

    270 E for 2 vu+ zero for 2 dvb-s2

wich beats twin dvb-s2 alternatives as

    339 E ultimo
    269 E duo
    500 E duo2
    310 E solo2

    ( prices from

Well , if you like Vu+ and you're a fan it's ok , but you can get a Dm800 se clone for under 100 pounds nowadays on ebay and it's a lot of box for the money .

i fully agree with this argument

          i started with a second hand dm500 enigma1
          from absolute newbee level
and i learn quite a lot about sat rcvr

You mustn't compare a chinese clone with a genuine vu+.
It's something that we have discussed many times in this forum, and I don't want to continue it, but I want to refer in abilities of them.

Maybe this receiver it's not so powerful as a solo2 or a duo2 but if I'm not mistaken has faster cpu than a dreambox

            - vu+ zero: 742 MHz MIPS Processor
            -dm800se : 400 MHz MIPS Processor

so, the vu+ is faster and this is something that you can see everyday when you are using it.

Also, I can't understand your thought when you said that in order to get a Vu+ receiver you have to be "fan and you like vu+" ?

You may forget that almost all enigma2 receivers are very close one to other.
They run the same images with a little necessary changes for each of them.

As a user of a dreambox and a vu+, I can't find any big difference between them.

            Can you?

So, why you have to be a fan of them and like it in order to get it?

Vu+ Zero seems to be a good choice for a simple user with a good support who wants a box running without problems.

                Yes

Here you can see clearly the difference between them

but none of the linux baseb receiver needs CI or modules in order to watch scrambled channels because they use emulators to do the same job.

... but back to the topic,

I think that the lack of the CI in vu+zero is not very important because if you to use an original card of a subscription, the provider gives you a free receivers for that with the appropriate setup.

                    You are right my friend

I just checked in vix images and I didn't find something for Vu+ Zero, so there is no support.

The same situation as about OpenPli and OpenATV images

Maybe they plan to release images for this box later in 2015.

The users of Vu+ Zero should stay for now with Black Hole images only.

OpenATV 4.2 is available for this machine which in my opinion is the best image out there, i currently run this on my Gigablue Quad Plus and it is 100% stable, This after around 4 years of using Blackhole i would never use any other image OpenATV far outshines the Blackhole image in many areas

I think that you will not have any problem if you install it

The same is for the other plugins
