    Re: New Box Vu+ Zero

Do you know if it will handle the higher Symbol Rates like the 44100 on 27W ?
I can not see anything in the spec to suggest it might.

A bit pricey for what it offers but being a VU+ is to be expected .
Looks like a nice little box to own and play with .

                Re: New Box Vu+ Zero

It is great for a second box in another room, for example I have a solo 2 with hdd and a duo without. It is very easy to mount the hdd on the solo 2on the duo Access recordings and record. I know what I am getting for Christmas.

                nml.

                  Re: New Box Vu+ Zero

                  ... about zero spec ...

                  i read from

                  >http://vuplus.com/productZero.html< : Features & Functions

that the missing functionnalities vs other vu+ rvcr are :

                  no pip

                  no common interface

                  no internal hd connector

                  no scart
no pip : not a big problem as this is a single tuner ( pip only on the same TP should be must ... )

no hd connector : i hope an external hd can be mounted via usb

no scart : add an hdmi to scart converter : 40 E

                  and last but not least

                  no common interface

                  which according to wikipedia

                  is related to

In Digital Video Broadcasting, the Common Interface is a technology which allows separation of conditional access functionality from a digital TV receiver-decoder (Host) into a removable conditional-access module (CAM).

It is also referenced as DVB-CI for Digital Video Broadcast - Common Interface.

The host is responsible for tuning to pay TV channels and demodulation of the RF signal, while CAM is responsible for CA descrambling.

The Common Interface allows them to communicate with each other.
which rises up this crucial question

how this New Box Vu+ Zero manages cam ie cccam, mgcamd, oscam ... ?

                  thx

                    Hi

It seems ok on the specs for a second box in the house and the price also is good for what can give you.

I have seen that there is already support from vix and Black Hole images.

butt still, i am a bit confused ...

so if the CI is the sat provider card reader hardware,

the __vuplus.com/productZero.html spec table tells us the zeros does not have one,

while the pics shows clearly one .

                            Dear @aplok

The fact that there isn't common interface on the receiver has nothingg to do with the cccam and mgcamd as already @BlueIsMyColor said.

The common interface is used only for reading a card, so for those users that want to use this receiver with a subscription card, maybe you have to look for something else.

I think that Vu+ Zero is a very fair receiver for its money and it's a good choice for a new user that now enter in sat world or for someone that just wants a second receiver.

This looks like a very good entry level box and it is going to be very good quality the bits that it does not do i think will not bother a lot of people
