the sly box is designed for 28 east which ve a too good picture quality product producer/manfracturer try it best to make it poroduct more better in a very low cost to increase its customers and the product users and to cover a big market wat ever it may be

The spiderbox does give a far better picture than the sly box i do not know why because at the end of the day the sly box is designed for 28 east only so it should be a better picture than any other box

I do apologise, free to view, freesat?
What I meant was that the picture I get from the free to view channels appears better via my Spiderbox than from my Sky digibox.
If the program guide was better on the Spiderbox I wouldn't use the digibox.

As it happens as a freeview box it is pretty good and gives a better picture than my official box.
    ----------------------------------------------------

    bit of a correction here,
dttv, digital terrestrial television= freeviewbox, throu aerial
    spiderbox=satellite receiver, via satellite

I think that day has already come.
They have no stock and are not answering emails about Spiderboxes.
However in this case withdrawing support in favour of a new model just won't work for a lot of us, the Spiderbox is a capable receiver without the "gift" and the information is out there to get new and better "gifts" I just found this site for example and already I have learned how to do a lot.

thats how it works on a spiderbox7000
Yes, about the same for the 5000, I am not sure if I have the best s/ware installed hence my previous question, but it does accept the input I give it and tells me I am connected.

My 1.2 metre dish can "see" from 42 E to 30 W so I have a reasonable choice.
Too much choice really as I haven't a clue what to do most of the time!

    hi

depends on the sats you have, but do some testing yourself, then you'll have an idea of what's open (pretty much I'd say!) - ok, as you're new here with few posts, the clines may get freezy, but see:

Sorry to bombard you all with questions, I have neglected my box for quite a while and have so much to learn. I will keep playing with it and do a lot more reading.

Please could someone tell me the latest versions of updates I should be using, I realise the SD has been left out for a while but which ones work the best?

    Great!
We all like a bargain, so I will wait a bit.
As far as my 5000 is concerned I installed a line using info I got here, after putting the info in I pressed the red button and got the message connected to server 1, and I now on screen I get "connection 1" is that right?
I have no idea what it clears and I don't know what sat to look at in order to test it!
    Any clues?

I have seen several reports that the new patch does indeed fix the ******* problem,
the problem might be accessing the site to get the patch due to problems at the moment, as above hold off as prices may soon fall.

    Regards Mobley3
