    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I would suggest that the "gift patch" refered to would be IKS one.

Hi jimmy are you the same one from the n/east.
        welcome to the forums.
You have been spoiled if you have a spider they are 10 times easier to use than a linux based box.you can have the box set up and the sea animals installed and running in a spider while you are still messing around with a linux box.
The only thing i have found with my linux box it is faster at unlocking the channels.
If you are only looking at boxes, I would say stay with the box you have got, it is as good as anything out there, and pay for a line off here and you will think that you have got your gift back.
        Enjoy the forums.

Can't really see that being an option, if they expect to sell boxes then it would need to be free, no-one is going to buy a new box and then spend an extra £50.00 just to see something.

            Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

From what I am told it comes with the patch as part of the price of the box so no extra money to pay

              Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I know what you mean Mobley but on the other hand thats what people are doing when they buy dreambox vu+ and all the others. Its basically the same team that not 6 months ago screwed a lot of people and they will be calling them selfs different names now. Proof will be in the pudding when people join the box forum and end up with the same arrogant bunch.

What price did you see crazy I see £99 delivered. My Spider is on the blink it aint opening Thor and it is not my line anyway there's no way I'm buying the new Spider don't get me wrong great box, but after what they did to folks no way.

                Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I think any "gift" is purely speculative at the moment and could simply be a reliable cline

Wow, that would make it attractive alright and I would guess a serious proposition for many people, I suppose we just have to wait and see what kind of support there might be.

I've seen the box advertised at £85.00.
If you get a £50.00 "gift" with it, it certainly would be a good buy.
Personly, I can't see that being the case.
                    Hope I'm wrong.

Just seen this on another forum SpiderBox -SmartBox_s_326su.img firmware update for HD 6000 .IKS Firmware Spiderbox HD 6000
To load the software you will need to use a USB pen and once loaded press menu, followed by 1111, and enter network menu and highlight IKS and press connect

                        Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I see it has an external power supply. Always have mixed feelings about those.
Good as there will less in box overheating and an easy repair.

Bad as they tend to be poorly made,

                          Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I've read on another forum that the channel database and firmware are different from the older SpiderBox HD series and neither will be compatible with the HD6000.
So, until someone comes up with a channel list, new owners will have to scan their own.

Just read a review on the HD 6000 seems to be a basic box that does the job with built in wifi and full epg only downside being the 6000 channels list

Don't think rescanning is a problem , price seems to be good, just need a reliable review
