Has anyone tried the new patch for the Spiderbox (requires a VIP paid membership)? It is supposed to give a wide selection of channels back to the old Spiderbox's for those where the gift has expired.

The server is not switched on redhezuk and in my opinion it never will. They would rather have your money for IKS and I think you'll find Spiderbox fazed out. Don't get me wrong I sincerely hope not but the team have to make money someway.

I have seen a few reports from people who have said that it works very well.
The main problem for people trying to join up to the service is that there is a problem with Paypal at present and when I last checked it had not been resolved. When it does get sorted out it seems they will also be doing something for people who still have time left on their existing gift.

Do you have VAS working Mobley because I don't and I assume redhezuk has not either. If your talking about IKS I would fully expect it to be working seeing your paying for that one.

I have not put the new patch on yet, been fitting a new kitchen so have not had too much spare time but I hope to do it later on tonight.

Not working for me but my understanding was that would only work if the gift hadn't expired and mine has. I was talking about IKS.

it would be interesting to know what they are charging for a years sub and what will be available ,the old service plus was pretty stable when it was working,but as myself you probably knew the ethernet service was coming to an end when they did'nt fix ch's that were being lost,i dont think there was a Hd movie channel left on Thor near the end.

Stable when working but i feel a little lack of confidence about subbing ,but wait and see.
So really the patch is only so you can subscribe to them otherwise no real benefit from installing it.

It might be a really good thing for the folks who dont have the time to card share or have a hard time understanding how to do it.plug and play.

This might sound a little mean but i bought my daughter a spiderbox for last xmas then swapped her so i could get the years gift on the motor setup as she would be only on 28E,i would'nt have noticed if the gift had gone ,i only noticed last night that it was'nt connecting and thought well i dont really need it.

At the moment it seems that they can only accept a certain amount of subscriptions and at present it has closed. I believe it is a Paypal problem and will not be available again for a few days. If anyone is thinking of downloading the patch do not put it on until subscription re-opens again as it causes problems, I was getting picture dropout every few minutes so I put the spider patch back on for the moment and no dropouts, hope this helps and might save people some time.

The channel drop out does it affect all channels or only the ones cleared by them?
Perhaps they still have bugs to iron out,i dont fancy having my other services upset .
It might be wise to wait and see how this all pans out before loading the patch ,they could be working on a fix right now ,as it did seem a bit rushed in.

I have the patch on and I don't have any drop out on my payed server scooter. I can't see how Mobley3 is as the VAS key aint working unless he has payed for the IKS key?

CW server support for the ethernet patch has been terminated. They have decided to support a different receiver and have modified the ethernet software my team and I developed to make patches for it.
I was wrong in my assumption that the VASIKS patch was a consideration. Nothing we have done would have influenced these people for good or for bad.
I will continue to attempt to get the source code we need to be independent of these people, but it will be difficult and the return of our ethernet function will not happen at any time soon.

forget about, VASIKS, seems 1 big con, have done a fair bit of reading (there) if you know where i mean, time to move on for a lot of spider owners, even some peeps have only just purchased new box!!!!

Hi scooterman, I do not have any service from them at present as subscription has closed temporarily. I put the patch on and then when I tried to subscribe for IKS I found that I was too late. The problem seems to be different for some people, your mate Jimi reported a blue screen problem for him which seemed to resolve when he entered the key for the IKS. Best suggestion is to leave it off until you can register if you so wish. The VAS option seems to be dead in the water as it only worked if the ethernet was working, something else which now also seems to be dead in the water going by the post from Boxer26. Shame for all those who have recently just bought a spiderbox including your M8.
