no you dont use that its for other use! enter n/line simalar to c/line, as you state just select newcamd when adding n/line.

FYI...The server setup is for sharing your card with friends.

Just got a spider box.. works great. Am I right thinking I can only use the home share feature with legit cards and not c-lines etc?

That is correct, you can only share what is in your cardslot or CI-CAM.

Would you recommend a spiderbox hd over the other boxes like Azbox and dreambox ? Also how does it compare to VU+ Duo box

The VU+Duo has a twin tuner the Spiderbox does not therego you cant record one and watch the other so to speak. For simplicity it has to be the Spiderbox for ease of use a simpleton could use it overall I think it depends what you want out of the box and how much of a challenge you wish.

Very top of this page right hand side "satlover free server" get a line in there m8. The more post you put up here the better the line becomes in theory. Put the line in your box "search forum for instructions" on how to enter your line. There you go free channels when your gift is finished.

Agreed there is plenty of info, but Obiwon, to answer your question no you don't need a boxkey. You can only share the cards that are physically in the card slot or CAM card slot.

You need to learn how to forward a router port to your spiderbox elsewhere.

You need to set up a dyndns or no-ip static IP account from one of the free providers. Learn about that elsewhere.

The process enable your Spiderbox Newcamd server is as follows:

                        - Go to Menu - Accessory - Network
                        - Select Network - NEWCAMD Server Setup
                        - "Type" should be set to "on"
                        - You can select the port you wish to use. If you don't know, leave the default 03567
                        - Go to User Setup
                        - Select one of the 10 client lines and turn it on.
                        - Enter a ID and a Password.
                        - Apply

At this stage you will also have your dyndns or no-ip account set up let's say it's spider.dyndns.com

You give your friends this information to enter into their spiderboxes, dreamboxes, azboxes or some unmentionable boxes...

                        N: spider.dyndns.com 3567 ID Password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

All those numbers refer to a key called the des key.

For convenience and to avoid confusion. the des key should be left as the default.

Once you have saved all that and set it all up, you will be able to tell if your friends are connected by seeing "CONN" to the far right of their line in the User Setup screen.

Yes i think you need to get yourself on a server, the spiderbox does'nt seem to be getting service plus/ethernet maintained like it did ,its turning into a very poor service compaired to what it was ,hardly worth watching thor and other sats with the gift anymore.

Does your router has the latest firmware? Check and update if necessary ; also taking your box, router and all cables off power for several hours sometimes helps.
