    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

Just a suggestion mate try formatting the hard drive with the Spider. I know its a bit much plus you'll lose whatever is on your drive you never said if it was a recording of the box your trying to play?

Really strange ,I had exactly the same problem about a month ago. Hard drive was working fine and then it would reboot the box, likewise it works perfectly with a USB stick and the HD works fine on desktop. The only reason I could think of was that the HD was drawing current as it also caused the picture to freeze before rebooting. I just bought a 64Gb stick to keep going, may try another HD at some point.
My HD was formatted in the Spider.

mmm. that Hard drive problem does sound very like a current draw issue, I used a power HD and I have never had a reboot when using it.

Maybe it the size of the hdd I can't remember offhand what the limit is but if it higher than specs allow it will not work, also you could try it with a powered docking station, so no power from the spiderbox is used

Can you just copy the recordings to another drive - if so pick up a powered drive and copy the recordings to that... they are pretty cheap to get now... or get a powered caddy and swap the drive?

                Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

In my case the HD is a powered one, also it is only 80GB. It was an old SATA drive I had lying around so I just popped it into a caddy, it worked fine for over a month during which time I constantly deleted and recorded items to it, and then it just started a cycle of initially causing glitching and after a few minutes the re-boot started.

                Regards Mobley3

The hard drive has worked fine for over a year but i agree it may be a power supply problem with the spiderbox i will see if i can power it up from a seperate usb power supply

You could also try a disc rescan to see if it has got any bad sectors, if it has they will be moved in the rescan.

                      Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

                      Try this m8
How to delete a satellite on the Spiderbox HD
Go to the Satellite you want to delete,

                      Part-1
                      1/Installations
                      2/Manual Scan
                      3/Delete all transponders

                      Part-2
                      Installations
                      Satellite Search
Press green button & move cursor with yellow button
Delete channel name exit & save

                      Part-3
                      Installations
                      Motor set up
store all un wanted satellites select 000.0 E & Exit

The Satellite has now been removed from your Satellite List,

You will not see the Satellite list now until you press Satellite on your Remote Control then move the cursor up or down to select a Satellite from the stored satellites in your receiver.

One way to copy multiple recording is to use clone disk applications, but I don't see why they wouldn't just work if copied directly

Anyone ever tried streaming from spiderbox to something like an iPad? I know their is the home sharing stuff for cards but wondered if there was a way to stream via DNLA or something?

I tried it m8 but had a lot of bother streaming it was glitching and freezing. Could of been my network though m8 I have a lot of stuff on my network. Go to search top of page and type "Home Streaming" to be honest not quite sure which forum I got it.
                                Good Luck
Just had a thought you'll need a slingbox or something like it to stream from the Spiderbox I was thinking you meant the other way from other source to Spiderbox. I have a slingbox great box worth the pennies.
