You have to know that chinese are advancing in big steps, and soon, they will be better and still cheaper.
Yes Coldfire, good comparation is just so, DM is like Apple their products are overpriced. Regarding clones, I think SD clones are good now in most of cases they don't have hardware problems and works like originals DM.
Other think are HD box clones, expecially DM 800 HD clones, this also the original project is not the best, also originals box are criticals for their temperature, so when you build a clone with cheap components and less build accurancy, those problems will be amplified. So I don't suggest to spend money for a DM 800 HD clone but to watch around and buy another kind of box original, there are many kinds really good and supported.

Dream multimedia better beware off the vu+ (solo and duo) and other "dreamboxkiller" linux receivers.
Dreambox prices are way to high, but their monopoly concerning linux boxes with cccam support and other camsupport is over.
New players on the market can only make dreambox lower their prices in the (near) future.

You have a point there, I didn't think of this at all.
Current existing servers must be working a lot with dreambox. Maybe in time other linux boxes will be used for cardsharing servers.

This is the official website : _http://www.edision.de/

Price depends off model. But I think around 200 euro maximum

The price of model you see into clip I've linked up is 149 euros, a good info just arrived: Edision argus mini 2 in 1 ip is now able to be server with last firmware so it can not only be client in card sharing!

For cardsharing server it uses his own software, it isn't linux based box. Of course it has epg like all other receivers.

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing

epg is available on every receiver, linux or other.
It's good news that the argus mini 2in1 can be server to now for a not linux box. It's more complete this way and the price is very interesting. 2 good reasons to chose this box in stead of dreambox clone.
With a little googling latest firmware/adapted image must not be that hard to find I think.

                            regards

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing

I would go for the argus mini 2 in 1 as it supports cccam (client and server) with adapted image and price is great.
If you would prefere linux receiver I would propose the vu+ duo or solo in stead of the expensive dreambox 800HD.
