All depends about what you wanna do with your receiver. Edision Argus Mini 2 in 1 HD IP COMBO (original) costs nearly like 3 DM 800 HD (original).
I agree with Runmo, for me too 800 HD price is out of market, for more less there are alot of good linux box. Vu+ duo or solo, or Azbox (now Enigma2 is in development for this box too) Q Box Mini HD (Enigma 2 compatible). If you give us more about what do you wanna do with your receiver, we can suggest you better.

When you have more questens about the reciver then ask.

To install the firmeware is very easy. You must only load the firmeware on a usb-stick and click instal in the menu.

How to put the new keys in to reciever edision

Reciever argus vip 2hd costed in Germany about 190 EUR. It is cheap and good quality for this price. I recomanded it

the new range from technomate is priced at £149 5402hd and 6902hd twin tuner and hd free view hd not managed to get one yet but hear good things

I would go for the argus mini 2 in 1 as it supports cccam (client and server) with adapted image and price is great.
If you would prefere linux receiver I would propose the vu+ duo or solo in stead of the expensive dreambox 800HD.

Do you know with which firmware its possible to start a ccam server on that box. i read through the half internet and only saw a homecamd server version for the argus

It seems there are adapted images for argus that have cccam included. I would ****** it to find more info, for example argus 2in1 cccam.

i just found versions where you can connect to a cccam server. it seems impossible to start a server on the edisons.
the only way i can start my homesharing project is to get a damn expensive dreambox or an old dbox2.
that kinda sucks

You can consider an Azbox too it is able to handle a cccam server using enigma2 or multicas but this like server will works just with another Azbox like client.

the azbox really appears very well to fit to my project. but on the other hand its too expensive for me, especially because i need two units. bah...

You could also consider vu+ duo or vu+ solo. Very good quality and good price.

@urkal: i`ve heard of many people working on software for this unit. so you can be shure that the receiver will be supportet in the (near) furure
edison is on the best with its receivers. they ve got a new linux receiver in their products too. so well see,...

i did bought dreambox 800hd china clone and there was only one problem with it usb ports was not working so i did a small soldering my self and now everything's working.. china stuff -> no guarantee
