    Re: Motor / positioner

    hi guys

oh man, still struggling here ...

now I already know that a 'normal' universal lnb doesn't seem to work (or very poor) and that I need a flange-lnb for a prime focus dish - is this correct and/or some tips welcome (+ what about feedhorn? where to buy? ...) very

    edited:
    some more questions:
    - does a lnb for prime focus exist with a normal support (round) instead of a flange? - my flange has only 4 holes ...
    - are there lnb's with built-in feedhorns? basically: what is a feedhorn and is this really needed? now there's some conical plastic (difficult to say if I can keep it + do I have to keep it?

    pfff

        Re: Motor / positioner

        hi guys

no one with some useful tips on the above? pity ...

        next problem:
Anyone knows if a gbox can work with 2 receivers?

        I need my 2 receivers (1 = protek = gift ; 2 = mvision = cccam), both support Diseqc 1.2 - I intend to use the loopthrough 1 -> 2 - both don't need to be on at the same time.

So my question: 1 know I can turn my motor via remote control of rec. 1 (via gbox), but can this also work with rec 2 (so: turn motor with remote control of rec 2)?
If this doesn't work: only option is to turn motor with rec 1 to correct sat, and then use rec 2? Or is it possible to use the remote control of the gbox to turn motor for rec 2 (so combination: rec 1 and use remote control of the gbox for rec 2?)

I hope my question is clear - so motor is not a diseqcmotor, dish must be turned with actuator + positioner (in my case the gbox v 3000).

          Re: Motor / positioner

There are no LNBF's available for a prime focus dish you would have to use a C120 for a prime focus.

if you get a Gbox with built in LNB input so that you can link a receiver directly to the Gbox then all you have to do is loop one receiver from the other using the loopthrough on both receivers into the back of the Gbox.

Nearly all V-Gbox available today have LNB input for Diseqc 1.2 commands

            thanks digicon

            - lnb: indeed, still have to sort this out ...
            - gbox: does have lnb in & supports Diseqc 1.2 (tested one earlier, works perfect) - sorry, but I'm a bit confused about your answer ; my question was if with only 1 gbox I can use 2 receivers (and so turn the motordish with both receiver remote controls). Setup would be: dish/lnb/actuator -> gbox -> receiver 1 -> receiver 2.

yes for both receivers to control the receiver you would have to loop through one to the other so LNB cable from dish to LNB input on 1st receiver and then from the loop out of the first receiver into the LNB input on second receiver and from the Loop out on second receiver to LNB input on Gbox.

of course i am sure you understand that you would only be able to use 1 receiver at a time using this configuration the other one would have to be in Standby mode

                thanks again digicon

ok, so it could work (no interference between the 2 remote controls) - indeed, only 1 receiver will be used. Only thing (as in the manual and as installed somewhere else): shouldn't the gbox be between the lnb and rec 1 (gbox has connections 'lnb' and 'receiver')?

further: I suppose it's important that on both receivers the same satellite positions are stored under the same number?

                  Re: Motor / positioner

                  Hi pan1100,

It wont matter which receiver supplys the Gbox LNB in as both receivers will be connected via the LoopThrough method.

Quite correct though both receivers will need identical Diseqc 1.2 position numbers

Yes again quite correct on the back of the Gbox it has LNB IN which is self explanatory and of course 'Receiveri which feeds the LNB Input from the Gbox to your first receivers LNB input and then loop through from first receiver into LNB input on second receiver.

                  Job Done

                  Regards

I am using 36 inch Venture Motor with my3.5 m Dish and also controlling it with Fortec star analog receiver with Built in Positioner, I am using 2 motors for my Dish, so any Diseq positioner is not practical for me

                      hi guys

                      next one ...

I have been looking for a prime focus lnb + feedhorn and found the next combination: 'Invacom SNF-031 Single-Flansch LNB 0,3 dB' + 'Invacom ADF-120 Feedhorn for C120 feed LNBs'. Anyone experience with this and/or any other suggestions? Or is the 'Inverto IDLP-40SL Flansch LNB 0.3dB' a better lnb/choice and will it work with the Invacom feedhorn?

                      thanks in advance!

Inverto and Invacom have same type of feed horn, Inverto have fixed type of Scalar ring, its better to be adjustable for tweaking

so the inverto lnb should fit the invacom feedhorn, but anyone suggestions/experience with the 2 lnb's (which better & why?).

The Invacom is a good all round performer but out of the Inverto series i would personally look at the 'Black Pro' version

If you are looking for some weak Transponders, then Black ultra is best, but , how you use this on your Prime focus Dish, I make it custom to use it with my 3.5 meter Prime FocusDish

                                hi guys

I won't start adjusting lnbs myself - so the inverto black ultra isn't an option.

The setup I have in mind will need a coax cable of about 40-60 m - I've read the invacom lnbs seem to struggle a bit with distances above 20m (+ the twin twf-031 seems to be much better than the single snf-031 -> true??) as they seem to have 'low output', while the inverto black pros have a 'high output'. Can anyone confirm or has experience with this?

And is there a difference between the inverto black pro single and the twin (I mean difference in reception)? Better choice?

Most of the transponders on my current setup are high ones (above 12000)

                                best regards
