    Re: Networking

cs bandwidth requirement can be (easily) covered by wifi

    except in bad propagation environment,
    including noisy neighbourhood channel interferences,
or heavy weight walls, especially, iron-concrete walls,
out there, a hot spot is preferred at each stage

many receivers plug in not working good with wireless.

          Re: Networking

I had a bit of trouble to pass the lan cable in existing raceways of my apartment,
Guando but I could work clean without breaking walls I was very happy with the performance and stability of the lan cable.
          Fatigue fully repaid.

            Re: Networking

cable connection performs better than wifi

otherwise wifi do prefers open environment,

            and avoid interferences or echoes,
like heavy concrete building (iron, ...)

also ecm needs quick connection, not so much bandwith

              Re: Networking

Wi-fi problems are related to latency and delay it generates, not to bandwidth, because cs does require very low bit data exchange.

All times is possible, always use cables.

Newer wifi transcievers also may go into a power saving mode, regularly, so may impact on the latency of communications.
I found my Horizon box set with 802.11 BGN was a nightmare for dropping packers for my box, and my laptop. had to reconfigure it to only use the g specs, and set it to 20Mhz, rather than the 40Mhz.
I worked with Homeplug 200 for my thesis and found high packet loss whenever anything with high current (cookers, heaters, motors etc) was powered on or off, on the same electrical ring, (prob 50-1000m worth of cable which is at the higher scale of a ring size)which could indicate disruption to the ECM streams.
