    Format the HDD using your DM, before initializing it. The default file system for HDD from racks is FAT32, of course you have poor results!

    @odysseas1991 you are right, HDDs are always much faster

      Best get a high rpm HD with large cache, mind you they can get a bit toasty if the case has no fans. Size isn't so important so long as you aren't planning on storing the programs for ever. In fact a smaller drive will most likely give you better access time, will be quicker to format etc.

        may be true on the DM, but also depends on the box (brand/type) itself, mine must be formatted into FAT32 ...

          many plugins inreceiver are compatible with hard drive special in linux receivers so i think to this reason cause they work better with hdd

            I think this valid point discussed in some other thread in this same forum, That is also a issue for me or region with warm and humid atmosphere. HDD install in Box make STB much hotter without external Cooling aid
