Re: External Hardrive
hi
Really depends on the receiver you have, suggest you first read there ; also not every brand HDD works well on every box ; the FAT32Formatter is working well ; also a lot of boxes can format the FAT32 themselves.
Eg: my 1TB works fine on the mvision, but not on the protek ; the 500GB works on both. There's 2,5" HDDs and 3,5HDDs - powered by usb or external power.Comment

Re: External Hardrive
*Some of the receivers support NTFS which actually remove the restrictions of the small size partitions.
*Some receivers are not good with a USB powered HDD so really need to think of getting one powered from the mains. If you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment

Re: External Hardrive
hi
Hopefully it's not like this at your end, but with one of my boxes all HDD's worked well (up to 1 TD) in the beginning for about 2-3 weeks, then box didn't recognize it anymore, had to format, again good for some weeks, and again format.
Basically, just want to ask you to post some feedback whenever problems may occur.Comment

Re: External Hardrive
@pan1100, you might need to check if your box actually supports a 1TB HDD. In some cases boxes only support like 500GB or 320GB. Please do checkIf you like my post, please don't hesitate to click on "Thanks"button. Thank youComment

Re: External Hardrive
hi microchick
I know, heard from others with the same box and 1TB that it didn't work either (apparently ok up to 500GB) ; didn't found info about the box itself ; still find it strange that it always works for a few weeks, and than isn't recognised anymore (not in the box, not by pc). Only solution is to format (first standard, than FAT32). Frustrating, but in the end learned something more about the box.Comment

Re: External Hardrive
thanks, but everything's working for now (500GB on the one, 1TB on the other) - will wait, have the impression it's not advised to take the HDD off the box too much (sometimes need to as one of the boxes has only 1 usb, and need it for saving channellist). I'll keep your link in mind, but hope I'll never need it.Comment
