Re: Who is the better dish motor?

    I choose the motek sg2100.

The installing was very simple, but use 2 hours to set up properly.
the motek works since about 5 years very good without any problems and it was very cheap

Re: Who is the better dish motor?

Please in order to choose one or another, would you mind write the price of your motor?
Motsat3 the one I purchased have a price of 60e more or less.

¿And anyone can tell us something more about their dish motor?

This can help to someone thinking purchase a motor, and with the help of all of us, perhaps this decision may be more easy. So I pray for your collaboration and opinions here.

      Regards.

My 18inch actuator started loosing positions, it's been up about 10 years, and I was having to tweak each satellite to get it right. I suspected wear or backlash. I have kept it clean and sprayed with oil. On removing the motor cover I discovered some sort of spider's web around the reed switch and rotating magnet. It was almost like the pulp of a wasp's nest, cleared it out, reset all sats and now working fine again, haven'y had experience of a ten year old diseqc motor, have they even been out that long ? No doubt time will tell.

hi dmpg, sounds like your, is it what they call a stab motor, doing ok, i hope i can get 10 years out of mine, i found that when i had my tech-no-mate 1500ci+ the motor when changing between sats worked almost instanly, but with spiderbox it seems to be slower to react and slower to move to position, perhaps the box? i am installing my brothers motor in the very near future as where he wants it a fairly large tree in way of mostly used sats, he has no room to position it further back an wants it positioned close to the ground, simalar to mine, so should be a doddle, his is a technomate 2600 h-h (metal gear)

Hi mate the motor dmpg is talking about is an actuator motor which are far more reliable and stronger than a diseq motor, an actuator has a movable arm which is attached to the dish itself and requires either a v-box positioner to power it or a dedicated satellite receiver to control the arm.

Actuators are normally found on larger dish installs from say 1.2m upwards, I would never advise using a diseq motor on a dish over 1.1m in size.

Like wise. I've used a tm-2300 for well over a year. I bought it as part of a 1m dish pack for about £100. Its now back in the box as I've changed to fixed dish's for faster satellite switching. But when I did take it down, it looked (after a little external cleaning) as good as new.

One thing I remember about the install, was the supplied dish amplified the motor noise quite considerably. Something that could have been corrected with some sound-mat (sticky tar paper) on the back of the dish.

c_s_b i also found the 2300 tech motor quite noisy as well, solution i moved it to top of garden in doing so i was able to latch onto 39e 42e and 45e which i could not pick up in previous position, so it done me a big favour, also cannot hear any noise

I have the TM-2300 Diseqc motor and it has served me well over the last 3 years. Before that I used actuators which always used to have a bit of give in the movement after a few months use. So much happier with the TM-2300 Diseqc motor.

Just installed a Technomate TM-2600 Diseqc motor. Took a while to get it absolutely right but it's very solid build and very pleased with it.
