      For me it's DBox2 followed by Humax5400 and DBox1.
I'm still using My good old receivers in different rooms.
But I've heard a rumor that there are plans to switch off SD-TV in 2019 and turn completly to HD. Then I put my good old Boxes in my private museum.

you're right...I was too long explaining the reason why I will change my "BOX" (actually an old pc card by Technotrend).
Reason is that I want to watch french TV on Hotbird (and they switched to DVB-S2, even if not all HD).
The reason why I loved it was that you can do more experiments than with stand-alone boxes, even if they have perhaps better tech quality.

My first favourite was Pace with a positioner , then Nokia 9500 with scsi and dvb2000 . A Manhattan followed , which had great support for alternative firmwares . My most loved now is VU+ Solo . It's just brilliant especially with VIX firmware .

My first box has been the nextwave 2200 with a programmable matrix reloaded CAM on board. Then, after its lifecycle, i bought the dreambox 500 and i was very happy. The linux based box are very very usefull!

I've been into satellite tv for 10 years now and being an installer also i've had 100's of boxes in my hands .
                  My favourites are
                  - Amstrad IRD 2000 , analogue box , i used that as a av system , as it had a amp built in and 4 scart sockets .
                  - Pace MSS500 with built in positioner also in analogue .
                  - Echostar DSB 2200 digital viaccess

At the moment i have =
-DM-800 clone ( not a great box in my opinion )
-Cristor Atlas E , very good with cccam
-Technomate tm 5400 super ( best motor and tuner box )

                  Wish list =
                  -Vu+
                  -Technomate 5402

I view many DVB-T or DVB-S USB card. Are they good? Haven't you any freeze problem or dvb-program to device binding problems?

My friend has a DVB-T USB card, but if he changes USB port software stop to working properly until he does not enter into setup menu and restart the initial configuration. This is the standard USB binding problem with Windows XP. Is a better idea to put dongle into a rear and "static" usb port of the Desktop PC.

I prefer all DVB PCI and better PCI-EXPRESS card with an embedded hardware decoding function.

DM500 never let me down, only problem within 5 years was the charger.

The king is the only one DM500s.

Philips DVB 3010 was my first tuner. I bought it for 5euro. For the price was a good tuner but liked to freezes. Next was DM500s. Clarke-Tech/Xtrend ET5000 is my current tuner.

But the DM500s is the best

                              Hello

My first box was a dm500s original
Is still working and will be working for long time

I think is the most popular box with the best sales.

My favoutites remain MM9500 and Humax IRCI5400. I had (and still have) both of them.

MM9500 with DVB2000 firmware is a legendary machine that made the story of receivers in the digital satellite era!!
