The most loved Box of all times

Nokia Mediamaster 9500 S was one of most loved receivers of all times.
It was an Irdeto embedded receiver (it has had a cam Irdeto inside not CI cam). It was produced by Nokia around 1997 and was sold in 2 versions, one for Germany named D-Box and other named 9500S, difference was into memory size D-Box was equipped with double of memory then 9500S and by Cam enclosed, it was Betacrypt (a modified version of Irdeto).
It was the first receiver able to handle SCPC channels and also to record on HDD video and audio using the SCSI port at backpanel. A guy named Uli Hermann has made 9500S fortune, writing a new firmware for it named DVB2000. Compared to official frmware, DVB 2000 was really poor in graphic but fast to handle channels and was able to enable many funcions impossible with original fw like pid search, CA info, blocker and so on.
Until now it is one of best SD receivers also if it can't handle card sharing.

I too had a 5400 around 9 years ago setup on a monoblock for 19 and 13 east what a reciever that was, how times have changed people now just manually put keys into a reciver or through network or even USB uploading.

I used to love getting hold of the keys and my gold card and programmer and do it through the Humax with programs like Picprog and MK find.

        ;-)

Even I had, and still do. But not the 9500 but the 9200s. I bought it for a staggering 838 Euros complete with Cam in 1997. A great box almost had all packets opened at that time either with a Gold - Silver or Titanium Card. Of coarse nowadays all that is gone.

Re: The most loved Box of all times

today it can work with samsung cam + tivusat perfectly on fw original CI3.1
also with dvb2000 but sometime give problems when you zapping.
depend of dvb2000 version installed and fw version of samung cam.
whith original cam tivusat i not tested yet

is powerful for record directly into pc,i use this for record audio from satellite channel radio.
