Increase the Reception for a Satellite Dish

Imagine you're watching your favorite television show or sports game only to have your television signal become pixilated or, worse yet, completely go out. This happens all too often to owners of satellite dishes with weak reception. There's usually one main culprit causing this problem: a bad satellite position. Objects such as trees or other buildings can easily hinder your satellite's ability to get a strong signal. What you need to do is find the best location to receive the strongest signal

    Instructions

    Repositioning Your Satellite Dish

1.Locate the highest positions available to place your satellite dish. The higher the spot, the shorter the distance the signal has to travel, thereby making the signal stronger.

2.Find the spots that offer a clear line of vision to the sky from the high point positions you've already determined. Any visual obstructions will obstruct the satellite's signal.

3.Point your satellite for best reception toward the north if you are in the southern hemisphere, says "Tate Magazine," or to the south if you are located in the northern hemisphere.

4.Make sure your satellite dish is bolted down securely on a strong surface. Even a light wind can cause the satellite dish to vibrate. This will affect the satellite's reception. The less the satellite dish is affected by wind, the better the reception will be. Keep this in mind when finding a location since you might find a good spot that is also protected from the wind

I dont mean to be rude but this is someting to laught about

Emagine this you live in building and you are at second floor, you building have 10 floors, so at least 50 meters of cable you need to get your dish on highest point (top of your building) through that much of cable you signal will drop rapidly, and all that cable is to make distance betwin sattelite and your place shorter.

Tv sattelites are on about 36.000 km vertcal of sea level + your distance to point where sattelite is on sky.

Hotbird is 40 000km from me that means that he is 4 000 000m from me and you are goin to shoter that distance for about a 30m so you get better reception.

dont place satellite dish under trees, balcons, or home
increase dish size to catch some poor signals
change lnb and cable (Make shore connectors betven dish-cable-dm are good)
      find right sattelite location
      everithing else is software problem
      Rule n.33 kid..... Concentrate

If you live in an appartment, it is maybe wise to arrange a meeting with all the inhibitants and suggest to put a central antenna on the roof instead of everybody doing his own thing.

Here we speak just between the dish (the reference) and the receiver so shorter the cable will be good the signal you will have

also satellite dish dont need to be higher for good signal (except if there is an obstacle that not allow the signal to pass trough)

ps : laugh as possibly you can we arn't in Cort here

Some countries begin to do installation like this because many dishes are giving a bad view for the building

All depends where you are living, open space or not, house or appartement, first floor or other floor, small dish, bigger dish, weather has a role to for signal, etc,....

            It's usefull ino anyway

Dish must be directed to south

TNT should do the job for blowing building

In a building, try to find a place without to many obstacles. The higher the better.
Not that evident in a building. I have the chance to have a balcony pointing to the south.
But still have some problems for certain satellites because of trees.
                      And I have no chainsaw

                      regards

But be careful, if this idea pick the person who live in the building behind your home and you are blocking his signal

One more way of increasing the signal is to cut the head of the lnb plastic. But beware not to expose it to rain or etc.I assure you that the signal level will increase definitely.

It will not increase your reception because the material is done the feedhorn cover don't reflects microwaves. So you just will let exposed your LNB's electronics to the wheater conditions and with water inside it you'll have a short circuit that can damage your receiver too!
