    Sats for DBox2

Hi guys im new to the forum, and seems like this forum is really active, and has people that know what they talking about... so i wanted to ask u guys if u could help me, my problem is

    Hardwarebox2
    Software: Latest GLJ image

and the problem: I get Astra+thor channels in the channelsearch funktion, but my set up has 4 LBS, 1: Eutelsat, 2: Hotbird, 3: Astra, 4: Thor, Disceq 1.0
and when i do a a search it only keeps finding channels from astra, and some thor channels, but i want the stupid think to also get me eutelsat, but nothing after millions of different options, in the search when its searching astra hast about 80 transponders, and 30 for thor, but for hotbird+eutelsat there are none, it just searches the frequencies :/

    anyone can help me?

p.s.: i hope this section is the right one for problems like mine

try to configure your satellit.xml... HERE u can create your own satellit.xml

change satellit.xml and give your sats in the disceq settings numbers from 1 to 4... otherwise you have a low signal for eutelsat and hotbird...

in which position is yor dish? to astra? if yes, try to adjust to Hotbird 13°, because hotbird and euelsat have a lower signal... the astra signal is very strong!!!

Can you explane your installation in detailed way? I mean, what dish size do you've, how many LNB and how are positioned on dish and also what kind of switch you use. So we can help you into best way.

on this might be to 85% correct :P

                  Astra - d=80cm - port: 3
                  Eutelsat - d=90cm - port: 1
                  Hotbird - d= 90cm - port: 2
                  Thor - d=80-90 - port: 4
LNB Multiswitch: TechniSat 4x Sat in, and 1 out

                  anything else u might need?

by the way, Thor i dont really need, if that would make the other 2 work

hmm... i see no mistake... how do u connected the lnb's to the mutliswitch?

                    astra on (horizontal high), 22 khz | 18 V and hotbird tp hL (low), 0 khz | 14 V?

eutelsat and hotbird must be on low outputs, because of the frequences... astra needs the high output...

Well first of all if you wanna solve the problem you should test all dishes and their LNB one by one in this way.
Disconnect the switch and connect direct one by one all your 4 LNB, example, disconnect hot bird cable from port 2, disconnect the exit cable from the switch and connect it direct into hot bird LNB, then try to make a scan on your receiver and see what happen, if all channels avaible are right received make the next step. move the cable to another LNB ever connecting it directly to receiver (the diseqc switch must be not connected between the LNB and receiver). Then you've done this test let me know results and I'll help you more. Good job.

yea i need to check that, might be the problem, but i cant reach the damn switch now, going to need find some freetime to check it... danke

                          ill report back, sir

@satman77, yea i was going to try that with directly connecting the sats to the reciever, but as i saied above i dont have the time atm, but ill try to get to it on the weekend, while no bundesliga matches are playing

one more thing, since my cables are short, does it matter if i add a 5-7m "extension satallite cable"? or does this effect the singal too much?

Sattalietes are on the roof, the switch is near the balkony door, and then there is one cable that leades from there into the reciever

Well I don't agree with svenhenk, if you use a diseqc 1.0 you can handle all 4 LNBs totally, I mean you can watch all bands and all polarity of your 4 LMBs connected. Yes of course you can extend your cables, just take care of what kind of cable you'll use. Don't use a thiny cable, you need just 5-7 meters so don't buy a cheap cable. Take care about the connection you'll do and if it will be outside home use a good gum tape like Scotch 23 (here you can find many info about: http://www.satlover.com/forum/instal...onnection.html) to cover it. Let me know when you'll do the tests so if you'll still need help I'll answer.
                            Regards.

if you do it professional like with a f clutch (F Kupplung) it will have no effect to the signal... good wires (good quality) lose only 0,3dB each meter, so u can have 20 meters and more without signal effects...

give us report these days... it will work soon
