      No dear
It's not nesasery to have motorized dish in order to get more than one sattelite on one dish
You can use a multi-lnb project
... and I think for something like that you have heard.
You can put several lnb's on one dish, one by one, and receive many sattelites.
...and this plastic thing .... is an lnb holder

thanks a lot guys for the information. if you can have multiple lnbs on satellites why do you need motorized satellites? i mean you can get 5-6 lnbs and then you dont have to worry with readjusting your motorized satellite everytime it snows or it rains.

also in the beginning someone mentioned about the color of lnb and its receiving capabilities. is that correct? different colors absorb signals in a better way?

when you install several lnb for 1 dish when you add lnbs signal become weak
however its depend to your location and sat

true, but only a few %, so not really that difference - we had this kind discussion in another thread here somewhere a few weeks ago.

pan when you have free time can you provide us with the link? i mean if it is significantly cheaper to install multiple lnbs instead of buying a motorized dish that is what we should do right?

I wonder are you talking about Inverto Black Ultra Lnb which is often talked about, if so it just happens the body of the Lnb is black in colour and also a very good high gain Lnb, regarding Multi Lnb set-ups they would cost a lot more usually as you need a separate one for each sat you receive ,also the extra cable and Diseqc switch, also it can be a lot more difficult to setup sometimes, but once set you have immediate access to the Satellite without the time lag waiting for a motor to turn. Really depends on your needs and the Sats you are trying to get.

                  Regards Mobley3

                    hi vanbasten

                    see http://www.satlover.eu/forum/satelli...b-quality.html
                    perhaps also usefull is http://www.satlover.eu/forum/install...se-signal.html

I'm not sure more lnbs will be cheaper than installing a motor - see eg http://www.satlover.eu/forum/install...motorised.html or search for eg 'motor' here in the forum.

Most probably already said here, but to me:
                    - advantage of motor: more sats to receive
                    - advantage of more lnbs: faster zapping speed between sats ; more options for recording (with correct setup and hardware).

but ... going a bit off topic here now ...
