good luck my friend, you wont regret it, when i had multi set-up, always though missing things, as what you heard thro the grapevine about what you receive on this sat/that sat, there are good film chns next to your 9east bird on 7east, salon 1/2/3 + others what you missing in your present set-up, glad you moving forward.
when you just receive say 4 satellites, to me that was it, but installing a motor revitalises this never ending hobby.
please if you can, install the motor yourself, its not that difficult, just a bit of know how and correct positioning, a lot of pateince and as this will give you confidence that if you need to adjust/move you can manage yourself in the future, first most important, make sure mount for motor is 100% vetical.
    good luck gain.

500s suport usals i use diseq 1.2 with usals and its work perfect just need to know your longitude and latiltude, check ****** earth,, point mouse to your place and on bottom is long. and latit. But your antena must be mounted perfect because 1 mm sometime is big problem.Find true sout with a compas and find on internet what is closest sattelite, here is astra 19.2 and move down and up your antenna slow to get some signal on your box from astra 19.2.Get best signal and thats your o position. Now just select another sattelite and your disc will go to that position automatic.Chek all from 42E to 30W.Corect ussails with decimals or antena 1-2 mm up and right or left but its easy now, when u got picture.
      Rule n.33 kid..... Concentrate

Hi f1fan, I would advise you get yourself some good quality T&K brackets if you need a new mount. You will have the extra weight of the Motor and also slightly higher wind load as your dish surface will be further out, and remember health and safety when working off a ladder.

Your receiver definitely supprts USALS. Easy enough to find all available satellites with USALS depending on your area. In case USALS wasn't an option for you then You will have to use the nudge system on DiseqC 1.2 to find satellites using the Left/Right, East/ West buttons.

Here is the manual of your box, confirms USALS

External power supply used only in case when the internal PSU is not working due to some reason. They recommend external power supply for some of the early versions of openbox/ skybox. BUT you will still need USALS or DiseQc to drive the motor.
f1fan: This option is not applicable in your case because you have USALS and DiseQc Both on your Box.

for motors, DiSEqC 1.2 , or USAL required in your box.
micro, DiSEqC on its own for A/B/C/D ports. i.e. 4 lnbs

Re: 1st Time Setup of a Motor

Ok you have set up your dish got it spot on with the reference sat 0.8w all all angles set and mount plumb, now you have to pan the dish so it hits all sats at max signals.
                here's how you do it......
pan move to 5e ajust dish mount for peak move back to 1 west ajust motor mount for peak
move out to 13e ajust dish mount for peak move back to 1w ajust motor mount for peak.
You ajust motor mount only at 1w repeat until at say 45e .
To the west is a mirror image and all should be fine if your mounting bracket is plumb.
But panning in this way will mean at the end of the day you are getting the most out of your system.
Ajustments are small and pressing up or down on the dish without slackening it lets you know if you are spot on.
Its not easy so take your time and scribe a mark on both mounts half way through the process so you can always return to these marks if you screw up.

The most important thing to get right is the wall mount make sure it is perfectly plumb ,use a spirit level vertically rotate it round the main support pole ,this has got to be perfectly plumb all the way round ,if you are off at all slacken support arms at wall and pack out with washers until you have it perfect .
If you dont do this then you will only have a half working system.
