Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! (Chat Show)
The 1970s and 80s saw a renaissance in film making in Australia, with films such as Picnic at Hanging Rock, My Brilliant Career and The Getting of Wisdom just three titles that were universally acclaimed. But at the same time, Ozploitation movies were being produced at an almost industrial rate. Mark Hartley's joyous celebration features such luminary directors as Brian Trenchard-Smith and interviews with Quentin Tarantino and Barry Humphries, who offers his recipe for perfect screen vomit. He also looks at the three main genres: ***, horror and action pix, with clips from titles including The True Story of Eskimo Nell, Razorback and The Man from Hong Kong. Visceral horror, nudity, ***ual violence and strong language.
