I've heard that in some countries they actually can go in your house and check what whether you actually have subscription or not. Do they hunt CS in your country? Do they fine you when get caught or even worse? As far as I know in the UK they only go after the servers and those who maintain payservers.

No they have to got some solid evidance to get to search your house.
So to my country busting CS servers isnt priority, we have much grater problems. -

Yeah, it's pretty uncommon and people usually just share what they have, payservers are pretty rare. (Although you can find payservers if you really wanna pay...) The authorities don't really look for them either. Well, anyone from England?Comment

I've only heard of one prosecution relating to CS over here. A few details on it are available on the wiki,

Tony: are you talking about payservers or just users who shared their cards? That article is about a guy who sold unauthorized boxes. I guess if you just do it for "experimental purposes" you're fine...Comment

In here, believe it or not, all types of dreambox receivers and the similar are illegal. Similarly, all SkyStar PCI cards and any box with Ethernet port are also illegal.
However, they don't search houses or track people who are suspected of running payservers or using thenm as clients.
I guess, the problem of illegal payservers is still at the early stages at this point and the PayTV companies have not started complaining enough yet. I know, but that is the way it is in Jordan. I got my DM500 from someone who works at the airport, he buys dreamboxes from UAE and smuggles them through customs. I've never heard of a home user being prosecuted, but it could happen. CS is definitely illegal in the UK, but the police go after the traders as that way they take potentially hundreds of boxes out of use rather than someone sharing with their family.Technomate TM600 + 1m motorised dish (TM2300 motor).

sharing paytv is in Germany illegal. It is also forbidden to share your own card in your own household while being a customer of a PayTv Provider.You must order a second card.Comment

Yeah, it's weird how some countries are stricter than others. But banning a box is kinda stupid... I just wonder whether I'll be able to put up a dish in a rental house in the UK. As far as I know you even have to pay some TV fee.Comment
