    Can a c-line switch off a receiver ?

I have a skybox F3 and a Cristor Atlas and with some free C lines both boxes switch off , reboot , and i was wondering what is the cause of that , how do some c-lines work fine and others don't ? Is it a different version cccam or anything else ?

    Thanks .

Are you sure they're written with correct syntax?

It looks like a bug in firmware.

        Hi

I have never heard about c-lines that cause such a problem.

Maybe your box just crashes and restarts by itself.

Both @herrr and @skytec are right.
Check the syntax of the lines and also upgrade your firmware of your box.

Also, you can try to reinstall cccam or mgcamd or ever try other versions.

Cline itself cannot do nothing but bring configuration to CS plugin.
If there are 2 different receivers glitches the same way you have to look at CS emulator installed. I guess they are the same on both boxes.
          - Is it CCCam, or anything else?
          - What vesrsion?

I don't know what version Cccam they have on the boxes , it's closed source firmware , and the boxes are in no way related , different firmwares .

It seemed strange to me , and especially the F3 it's very picky with the line it wants to work with . Until i delete the line it keeps rebooting continuously every minute or so . When i delete the line , it is fine . Strange .

I had a similar problem when I had a skybox though the syntax of the line was correct the
box kept on rebooting until internet connection was disconnected and the line removed. I
concluded it happened when the line connected to the server when a ecm request was sent
I was receiving bad data which made my box reboot. After informing server and getting
                  another line all good.

                    Hi mahrkpat

When you say about "receiving bad data" how can explain it?

The fact that your server sent you another working line, make me believe that the problem maybe was a long c-line.

I mean, the username or the password of the line it was too long for your box and when the server changed it, all was ok.

Maybe skybox and Cristor Atlas have problem to handle long lines.

So, I would like to ask @josht5
if your c-line that causes problem has too long username or pass?

@mahrkpat , yes , that exactly what happens to the Skybox F3

@kalpikos , no , it does not matter lenght of user pass , the Atlas just freezes , and it needs a reboot , but that sometime happens without a line on as well , so it might be a bug in the firmware , it has the latest one by the way . But the F3 it's very picky with the lines it wants to work with .

                        Hi

Maybe a server has the answer to your problem.

It would be nice if someone can say if there are different settings to a c-line given for different receivers.

sometimes if you install uncompatible software, your box will crash and reboot, try a different image.

There is definitely this possibility. I have seen a technomate receiver freeze and stall when an active c line was in use. This required a reboot of the box from the mains plug. It appears to be software related where a conflict occurs...

If you load incompatible software on the Skybox or Atlas it will bust the receivers , they will not turn on at all , that is not the answer .

I'm thinking that the version of cccam is not compatible , but how do you find out first what your receiver is running , and then you have to find out what version the server is running . So you have to find a version similar to the one your receiver is running .
