Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
Maybe try to use another usb stick. If that does not work, I think the current firmware on your box is faulty so you should put on a new firmware on your receiver via rs232 port. -

Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
Hello deanod
You can try to format your usb stick and transfer again the upgrade file.
Prefer the Fat32 format.
Also, you can try another usb stick.
Many times, usb sticks with many GB's capacity, fail to work properly with some receivers.
It's better to use a stick with 2-4 GB capacity. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
Might be a problem with box another way to load channel lists is the STBHD Lan Memory Manager Tool:
****** for it for the F5s for updating channel list but be careful sometimes this caused a reboot loop on the F5s when updating firmware because some garbage was left in the othe files and the solution was to make sure contant.cw, cccam, mgcamd are cleared also look at other user input files if solution doesn't work.
The solution was found by picoman thanks to him:
The LAN tool must write the configuration files to the wrong place and/or corrupts them too.
A factory reset and file deletion does not erase these corrupted files. A simple replacement via USB does not work either.
Thanks to the hint from "bigade1" on another forum, I had another try with the LAN tool and discovered that the const.cw file (which I had deleted numerous times) was still in place and contained data.
Using the LAN tool I downloaded it, erased all the data and then uploaded the empty file again using LAN tool. I suspect this may be all that is needed.
However, for completeness I also reloaded the firmware from 21.08.13 and a new channel list, connected the LNB and it all works!!!
So "what killed it, fixed it".Liked my post then push the sigpic button.Comment

Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
HI I am new to the forum and I don't know how to post!
I got a new box today and when I connected initially with sky input lead, there was scramble message. I downloaded new dbs and flashed through usb however the problem was still there. I then went to the factory setting and I might have deleted one item from the list, not sure which one but now there is no scramble message, instead it says no signal. any help please?Comment

Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
Hello peterparker78 and welcome to the forum
What is your new box?
Is it a skybox F5?
The "no signal" message means that you have to set up the satellites you are receiving and to configure the channel list depending on your dish.If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: skybox 5s cant update help needed
Hi peterparker78 reload the TP_PROG.dbs file that will give you all your channels back to
unscramble Sly channels you will need get a c line or n line do a bit of googling if you need
help start a new thread and I will help you.
p.s It is always nice for 1st post to be intro post and for help start your own thread so that
things don't get confused.
p.p.s kalpikos some firmware for Skybox show no signal instead of scrambled but in this case
you are right because peterparker78 said it said scrambled before.Liked my post then push the sigpic button.Comment
