    hi,

a stupid question rise up to me !

if sku or uk wants to be kept out of Europe area,
-- as they did recently when they even more reduced their uk sat footprint --

is there out there a counter player to equilibrate this ( France, German, ... ) ?

if all this sku propaganda is not popular any more all over Europe and even outside like
    North Africa,
who will take this propaganda slot they left empty ?

do remember the sat culture impact on Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, ...
and the long term consequence from internet or gsm revolution ...

That is also not a long lasting solution, as with time the providers will replace most of the SD channels with the HD ones, to them in future there will be no justification for servicing SD channels due to cost and also HD TVs are now getting cheap by time.
Gat to find real long lasting solution and in my Opinion its got to be firmware based solution

are using this option in Spain, using a mag 250. There is also a paid for E2 plugin which
gives access to to content, tests by people I know have shown this to be very stable and
giving access to all sport channels sly, bien etc and you can subscribe to channels in your
region and a hugh collection of movies to view.
isn't the picture quality rather poor with iptv compared to sat picture.

I wouldn't say so... Quality is quite good compared to sat picture.
Only exception is that IPTV channels with bandwidth drops have instability issues that are manifested in mpeg or HD fragmentation of the screen.
The same issues on manifestation goes for signal drop depending on weather conditions from Satellite channels. It's because of signal drop any way or another.

Other than that, picture quality is quite good, depending on receiver as well as TV set!

i do prefer my sd when compared with
a regular iptv of my hairdresser !

            definitively !

even more on prime time ...

when bandwith is crowded, iptv quality drop
iptv runs over udp, not tcp !
so they have to loadbalance to keep it up on prime time ...

            ---
so, once captured by this market,
the client have to subscribe a faster home internet line !

Question is not stupid, it's rather quite economically viable!
There's quite an interest from British Sky in holding it's island customers privy to legal subscriptions... Britons as most wealthy nation in budget per person is in not so much interest to use CS.
Sky's biggest problem lies in European mainland especially in Balkan regions where most of these ppl are all in hacking and cracking not to mention shallow pocket economy!!!
This way of using Satellite platform services is most popular here.
Sky UK is leading some media globalization policy which aggressively paves the way for other platforms removal!!!
That at least said, is not democratic and is economically set up as a sort of ultimatum...
So unfortunately, we could expect breaking all systems but S*y... Reason, inside jobs of ppl allowing themselves to be bought by S*y fiscal machinery!
Money is a bitch, ain't it...

The one thing in CS world that would go most on our users hands, is exactly breaking of rather N*S over any other system... Which could put some balance into this provider onslaught before our eyes!
