Yes it has a double tuner for PIP (which I never use), but the Sunray has DTT and wireless capability which makes it a better and cheaper choice.
Moreover, I am yet to understand the difference in processor speed which is not noticeable.
First of all you are comparing a genuine box with a clone.

Solo2 it's a new receiver recently came in market and their clones have very high price (I remember the price of a dm500s clone in 2007.... that it was near the original's price).

A clone is a clone my friend a cheap chinese box which you don't know when it will break down.

If you like to compare the boxes buy a genuine dm800se and a solo2 and compare them.

On the other hand if you like to compare clones buy a clone solo2 with the half money and a sunray.

Just avoid ebay , China's stores or other small stores in Europe with websites or blocks because there are many clones.

Don't prefer a very cheap store and also don't buy a second hand box.
Makes your buying from a verified big store and also make sure that the warranty of the receiver is valid for your country.

I would suggest you if it's possible to buy it from a local store and take a look on the box before you buy it.

Threre are some signs that can tell you if the box you are looking is clone or not.

Here you can find more info about clones and how you can avoid them

Re: Solo 2 or Duo 2

The price you mention is right.
Vu+solo2 costs about 340-350€ in europe.
That is the price that I bought it.

As I said above don't trust shops with very low price.

Also, don't buy the receiver together with a HDD.
You can install it later by yourself and be sure that you will find it in better price that now..

Moreover, may be you don't really need a HDD but just a usb stick.
I have a stick of 32GB that I bought it for only 14€ and I'm very satisfied with the free space that provide to me for recordings and epg.

            hi

perhaps works fine on the VU+'s, but my experience with timeshift and recording on usb-sticks is not good (especial scrambled hd channels - not working, flickering, audio sync problems) - best to do some tests (and report back).

              Hi pan1100

I use timeshift with usb stick (32GB Adata and fast enough - write speed:20 Μb/sec) on my solo2 and so far I don't have any problem on any sd or hd scrambled channels (I just tested it to be sure).

I have openpli4 and the timeshift is working very good as well as all the recordings (sd and hd channels).

              What image you are using?
Maybe your image has some issue with timeshift.

I never had a problem with timeshift on my duo clone either running vix
I just checked and it seems to be working fine on my solo Clone also Thats also running vix.

Btw using a 16gb USB flash drive for timeshift.
I remember I did have problem when I use a cheap generic USB flash drive which conveniently stopped working after plugging it out of the box. I think it was not able to handle the write speeds.
