I would like for you to pay attention and warn the members that are thinking of buying a VU+ Solo2 that the clones are already on sales and it’s very hard to recognize them.
They are sold as second hand mostly on eBay and the sellers also claim that they bought it a few weeks ago and don’t know how to use it.
Of course you can find them easily on famous China’s stores at very good prices.
As I said above, the differences between a clone and a genuine box are very difficult to find and until now there is only one known on the motherboard (a chip with the red arrow) as you can see in the following photos:
Upper side of motherboard
Down side of motherboard
My advice is to be careful from where you buy and who you trust, because in order to save some money you can easily make the mistake to buy a clone.
Additional Information:
The first clones are here and they were revealed due to a new update with Vu+ drivers from 16 december 2013.
The vu+ relesead this clone protection drivers in order to fight the piracy.
When a user try to flash his box with a new image after the end of the procedure starts a FPGA upgrade at first reboot.
If the vu+solo2 is genuine all is ok, but if it's a clone the user take an HW error.
