You are right, people must be driven to undestand config option and not just put the C line and watch...

You must know that free lines are not so good, but sometimes maybe you are lucky.
Are you sure if your cccam is working well?

          Thanks for your reply
I had a test line from another site and with that everything worked.
Then I used few different lines ( one at each time) and nothing worked, hence my question?! I was not sure that the lines I got from here opened s k y sports channels.

Lets say I might have accidentally put two line at once in the CCcam.cfg file, and my IP address has been banned by the server, what happens next? Am I banned for ever? if it is only the IP address, surly restating the router will change the IP address and I should be able to use the server again!!

Exactly...as I said other times Mr. Satlover will not come to your home to do bad things
Fix your cfg, restart the router and never do it again.

Reasonably the firewall will ban an user ip address for a fixed time (for example 1 day), then the ban list is cleared.

If not, who has a fixed ip address will never connect again and this is not an acceptable solution. Except in rare situations when an user performs continous wrong behaviors, I don't think that is correct give a lifetime IP ban.

I also think it is so, but I never asked, cause all people having this problem had dynamic IP...

Especially in this case the ban cannot be lifetime...it would be nonsense considering that you can easily change you ip address simply rebooting your router.

if you think its the ip there be blocked you are wrong its the mac address
and that will always be the same
just try to do a ignore node on a satlover cline and you will lose many channels

It's very interesting to have an answer from moderators, even if it's not so easy for me to understand, cause I worked 30 years with radio/TV/SAT hardware, but I'm skilled, but not so far, with nets.
I think that phil76 himself, who agreed with me, should have better understand and will answer.

so if the firewall logs the MAC address to ban, how long the ban will impose, or will it be permanent or just for a fixed duration?

                        Thanks

Yes, now, after some minutes, I understood how was it possible and ask the same question, even if with my use, it never happened and never will.

I think here we are making some confusion. How can firewall log user's mac address to ban it? Mac address is not a hierarchical address, so it is not routable over internet. Mac address is only local significant, so it can be used only on the LAN. When an host encapsulates a data packet it sets the destination IP address and the destination Mac address. As destination Mac address it sets the Mac address of gateway router's LAN interface, because for the trasmitting host the Mac address of entire internet is that. Routers act as proxy arp, so when an host broadcast an arp request to learn the destination host's mac address, the router reply with its LAN interface mac address. So, considering that Mac addresses does not travel over the internet toward destination host, how can firewall ban the source host's Mac addess?

                                How can you do that?
I thought MAC address are hard coded and can't be changed?
